i need to vent for a moment.

we have a shared carport/garage that is used by all 6 units in our building. there is NO storage space in the condos, i don't even have a coat closet, so people keep things in there. whatever, as long as it's in your designated space, i don't care. people have some normal stuff, carseats, strollers, tools, snow shovels, grills, trash barrels and some weird stuff- car parts, a mattress etc. i put a plastic shelving thing out there to put our stuff on camping gear & car stuff & there was some stuff on the ground- charcoal for the grill, holiday stuff, a big plastic bin of crap i took out of my car that i needed to go through & a bag of trash. well yesterday the owner of the building took it upon himself to 'clean' & threw away anything that wasn't off the floor! this space is TINY and i park my pacifica in front of our things everyday, so it's not like it was strewn about & taking over anyone else's area & we certainly do not have the most crap. i'm so angry that he threw away our stuff! that bin had a few cards from our wedding, paperwork, a pair of nice dress shoes and a cole haan leather purse in it! regardless, it was MY stuff and he didn't say anything like, 'i'm getting rid of anything in the garage so you should get your stuff' ARGH. i feel gross & like our privacy was violated since he was essentially going through our things. i don't want to talk about it with him because we can't get our stuff back, but i also wish he knew how out of line i feel like he was.

thank you for letting me vent. feel free to share your crappy landlord stories too.
