It's scary how people act when they can be anonymous.

I see all those comments as completely laughable. They all just ooze jealousy.

As I read that I just kept thinking that my children are going to grow up with this. How can I protect her from this nastiness? How do I teach her not to become an anyomous bully?

This makes me so nervous for the tulmutous early teen years which will only be more tulmutous with anyomous bullies.

@googly-eyes: I was wondering the same thing! Especially since one of the comments made it seem like they knew her IRL.

I hate the nasty comments online. It's just so cowardly... talking a big game behind a veil of anonymity when they probably wouldn't have the courage to say any of that to her face.

That's SO ridiculous. I also worry about this when my LO gets older.

@pinkcupcake: yea, like the person who said when her tumblr comes up on his dashboard he wants to punch her? Uh.... So take her off your dashboard! Do you WANT to feel so hateful all the time? If it makes you mad, don't look at it! I just click off things I don't want to see too!

i really don't understand this part of our culture where as soon as there is a screen between people they morph into mean teenage girls who want to rip everyone else apart. i'm not saying everyone needs to like one another and think everything everyone does it the greatest, there are plenty of people i don't really like or types of posts i find tasteless, i just avoid them!

do we really hate ourselves that much? it says so much more about the people commenting that the girl posting. we have nothing more positive to do with our time and energy than rag on people? we have to work through our stress and self hate by trying to make other people hurt? these aren't celebrities who have chosen to make a living off of their public persona, they're just average people participating in (for better or worse) a typical custom of online sharing. if you don't like what's being shared, but it's not harming anyone, go elsewhere. we're socially stunted by the lack of normal human face to face interaction that takes place now. if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't put it out there in public for them to read.
