Kids are off school again and we’re trapped in the house. Anyone else? I’ve really been struggling this winter and I need t to be over!

Yep!! It seems like its snowing 3"-6" every other day for the past couple weeks, and its supposed to keep up! It's making for some nasty commutes and a lot of shoveling....
I'm pregnant this winter, so I can't even do any of the winter sports I normally do to enjoy the season. This winter is getting really long since I'm just stuck in the house.

Some ideas for stay at home all day activities for young kids...
-put snow in bucket and food coloring in water and let the kids add the coloring to the snow with droppers
-make maple candy with maple syrup and snow
-have a spa day with comfy clothes... paint nails, wear a mask (avocado, eggs, oil, etc. can be whipped into a mask)
-Freeze toys in water and let the kids watch them melt in a hot water bathtub

@RonjaL7: we did make snow ice cream in our last snow day, the kids got a kick out of that

OMG, schools here are closed AGAIN tomorrow. We have had 5 full snow days and one early dismissal in the past two weeks. DH finally got home after being stuck away for two extra days due to canceled flights but needs to go to work tomorrow, which means MY work is going to suffer again, and another day at home is going to drive me over the edge! AAGGGHH!!

I can't complain because our winters here are pretty mild, but we are having a pretty impressive storm right now and are definitely going to be stuck at home tomorrow because of it. This morning I tried to take O to school but got the car stuck on our long, sloped driveway. Stayed home and watched the snow pile up all day and tonight we have another 10-14 inches in the forecast. This is out our front door this evening. I'm not sure how I'm going to even exit the house in the morning! Also, shoveling with a 9 month old and a 3 year old...how is this going to work?
ETA: This is AFTER I shoveled the walk way and front step at 1:30 this afternoon.

@PurplePeony: that’s been our situations as well. It’s rough. I’m actually thinking all these snow days are going to start being a problem with school getting enough days in
@Mrs. Turtle: that is a lot!

Ugh! We've had 5 snow days, 2 early dismissals, 2 swim lessons cancelled, 1 gymnastics cancelled, several dentist appointments cancelled. My kid is an expert at flexibility now. I'm over it. Come on Spring!

Today makes 10 snow days I think... some schools around us are adding 10 minutes before and after school to help make up the days!
I'm sooo sick of having to drive on the crappy roads though, Monday was the worst so far.
The one positive is we're saving a bunch on daycare, since when my step-daughter (15) doesn't have school, the LO's stay home with her... great for us, but she's also burnt out, lol.

@josina: Our state is finally passing legislation for schools to make up snow days based on extra time and not strictly taking holidays and tacking days onto the end. My son isn't in school yet, but I'm pretty excited about it.
