My DD gets them occassionally We do warm compresses when they are bad. She's also needed antibiotic and steroid drops/ointments in the past. To prevent them, we scrub her eyelids with a washcloth and baby shampoo.

I'll have to try the baby shampoo. I started with hot compresses. This is the second one I had and the first took 3 years to go away. My doctor wanted me to have it removed but there was NO WAY someone was coming at my face with a needle/scalpel and it ended up weeping away on its own.

@babycanuck: omg! Three years! Hers have lasted a few months at the most, and I thought that was a long time... Yikes! Hope it gets better soon!

I had it removed and it never came back! It wasn't a pleasant experience, but I will say the anticipation was worse than the procedure.

Update: Salt water seems to be helping. No more pain and I think it's going down nicely. THANK GOODNESS!

@SAHM0811 - hot water and a bunch of salt. The dipping a cloth/compress and holding it on my eye. Making sure it stays warm by dipping again!
