@Andrea: Oh okay YAY! Hope LO walks by 13 months! We have a wedding to go to next month and I really don't want to have to carry her around everywhere!

It really isn't late. Our ped said most kids walk at a year or later. Although I seem to know a lot of people with kids walking before their first birthday too. DS isn't really close yet. He can't balance on his own yet, but he can walk along furniture and pick things up off the floor if he has a hand to balance him. Maybe this month.

She's late at pretty much everything else, so she'll probably be a late walker. She's still pretty wobbly when sitting and she's not crawling yet at 8 1/2 months. She's a good scootcher and roller though.

That isn't late at all. My son is 14 months and still not walking by himself and he's still in the normal range.

That's definitely not late. I think 90% of the babies I know walk at 13+ months! DD1 walked at 13.5 months... but DD2 will probably be 12 months or so since she's cruising now at 9 months.

@NYCaliMama: @pelikila: @mrstilly: Okay I feel a lot better now! I've been asking my LO when she's going to start walkinggggg.. I'll stop pressuring her

@chopsuey119: DD is 11.5 months & not walking!! I know that two of my mom friends around here have LOs who walked at 10 months, so I feel kind of like you sometimes, but they are not behind & I'm sure they will walk when they are ready

@chopsuey119: maybe she just needs a change of scenery. My son was walking during a visit to my parent's home for 3 weeks. Before then, he would pull himself up and just stand there. I think it was the curiosity that finally encouraged him to take his steps.

@looch: That is interesting but actually makes a lot of sense! I know two of my friends with "early" walkers are never at home, always at daycare or friends or etc & my LO is almost always at home with me. Good thought

@looch: @sulli301: LOs always at home with me too! Taking her to a playdate next week so hopefully she'll be motivated to walk when she sees her cousin walking!
