So my (almost) 10 week old is an awesome night sleeper (11-12 hour stretch with 1 wakeup consistently), but we've struggled with naps. I've been trying to do a 3 hour EASY with her for the past 5 weeks, with varying levels of success.

In the last 2 weeks she's started showing sleepy cues, which is super helpful (big yawn then rubs her eyes). I've noticed that if I put her down to nap in her swing she'll generally fall asleep but almost never stays asleep more than 30 minutes, then wakes up sort of cranky. If I put her down for a nap with her bedtime routine (swaddle sack, white noise, binky, down in her bassinet in our room) she usually goes down super fast (5-10 min after I set her down sleepy but awake, and rarely fusses for more than 1-2 min) and about 50% of the time she'll sleep 1-2 hours then wake up super happy and smiley.

But the other 50% of the time she wakes up after 30-40 minutes. I usually wait about 5-10 min after she wakes up to pick her up (unless she starts really crying) to see if she'll fall back asleep on her own, I've never had any success trying to put her back to sleep by rocking or anything like that. I wouldn't care if she just didn't need that much sleep and woke up happy-- I'm not really trying to just get more free time here. The problem is that if she wakes up after less than an hour she is super cranky. Once she does this we're usually in for a rough few hours or rest of the day-- because she gets overtired and cranky and usually the rest of the naps for the day are also short and fitful followed by cranky pants.

I generally try to put her down 1.5 hours after she last woke up, unless she looks tired earlier (sometimes she yawns 15 min earlier) and then I'll put her down right away then. But when she has a really short nap it gets our schedule all off because if she isn't ready to eat when she wakes up (because it is only 2 hours from when she last ate) then by the time she eats again she's tired right away and then we'd have our schedule flipped.

So is this just normal 9-10 week old stuff? Or is there anything I can do to help her sleep longer? I just want a well rested baby because she's SO much happier when she's slept enough!
