We are the same mix! I love it so far

@Mrs Hedgehog: I'm "spiritual not religious" (raised Protestant Christian) and DH is Hindu. Luckily for us, Hinduism is a pretty inclusive religion, unlike many religions that feel like you have to do that OR nothing at all.

Our plan with LO (arriving shortly) is to celebrate all holidays, teach her about Hinduism and Christianity (although since I don't really buy into a lot of it, it will be from more of a historical/cultural standpoint. Then when she's older she can pick what she wants.

I have no problem with her choosing Hinduism one day....DH would probably be disappointed if she wanted to be some type of super conservative evangelical Christian though,since those ideals really conflict with our humanist beliefs. But then again, I would be disappointed, too.

I think we're basically in the same page. For our wedding we had both a Hindu ceremony and a non-denominational semi religious (I hesitate to say Christian) ceremony, where our officiant mentioned god but wasn't overly religious, if that makes sense. So it fit both of us.

I was raised Catholic and DH is Jewish (like you @swedishfish). DH is not very much into Jewish culture no matter how many times I ask, so we won't be raising a future LO Jewish or doing Bar/Bat Mitzvah. We also won't be raising him/her Catholic because I've drifted away from the Church. But we will make sure our child has some basic knowledge of both (along with other faiths) in case they'd like to choose something in the future.

We had a Zen wedding and plan to do a Zen Buddhist baby blessing in lieu of a baptism. Although we aren't religious, the concepts just made the most sense to us.

We are interfaith (I'm catholic; DH is Lutheran) and mixed culture (I'm vietnamese and he is German/Irish).

We are taking tips from my brothers and sisters.

We want to bring our family with some sort of religion but when they get older, it will be upto them to decide.

As for culturally, I am trying to get myself into my culture because I never really appreciated it until a few years ago. (Living on our own away from parents) I want to teach my kids about the vietnames culture, foods and traditions and make sure to show my DH's side, too.

I am Protestant and DH is catholic. It causes more problems than you can imagine. But I go to church every Sunday and he does not so I feel I have the say in where our future LOs will go each Sunday.

DH and I come from different religious backgrounds and different ethnicities, but we are similar in that we both consider ourselves agnostic. So we only plan to celebrate things like Christmas and Thanksgiving for traditions' sake (and Easter for the fun of the easter egg hunt!) as we both did that with our families. And we will support our children if they choose to follow a specific faith or none at all. We also mutually agreed (without any serious discussion) not to baptize or circumcise.

ETA: I was raised with one parent protestant (hence the holidays i celebrated like xmas) and the other parent muslim so we also did Ramadan and celebrated all the muslim holidays, but i won't be incorporating anything from the muslim faith with our children.

We are same faith but intercultural extended families. DH and I grew up together and share most of the same views and values. We are both atheist/agnostic. We plan to raise our childen with a secular upbringing but respecting all religions (since his own family are Christian and mine are Buddhists).

Culturally, his family is western-mixed, mine is asian-mixed. So we will have a very blended family community.

Yup, he's catholic and I'm jewish. Neither of us is religious but I was bat mitzvahed and he was confirmed, so we were definitely raised in different faiths. So far, prebaby, we celebrate each of each other's holidays - our families care more about getting the family together than attending church or temple. I think we'll continue to do the same when lo comes, but I do wonder about how we'll handle religious education. And I'm secretly hoping we have a girl so I don't have to deal with whether to have a bris

I think it is something we need to discuss further, but I don't anticipate much conflict between us, as we feel the same generally about religion.
