Let's commiserate. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooo burnt out! I just started feeling this way a couple weeks ago. I literally think about how I wish I could cut down on working from sun up til sun down. It is not in the cards right now.

Me.
I'm having a hard time this week. I had a D&E on Monday, worked from home on Tuesday and have had an incredibly busy week at work. I feel like I'm giving 50%. Today is LO's first birthday, his party is on Saturday, and I have a huge event for work on Tuesday. I need a break from my life.

@2PeasinaPod: I think i'm giving like 2% to everything right now. It's horrible.

I was really feeling like this last week, like I wear a lot of different hats (mom, worker, wife, etc), and I'm not really good at any of them. It sucks.

Yes, but it's not my job that is burning me out -- it's being 39 weeks pregnant!

Not yet but I am very scatter brained these days. I feel like I will forget to do something important soon!

@yellowbird: Yes. And giving 2% at work would be an improvement right now!

@sotofamilia: That's exactly how i'm feeling right now. I feel like i'm failing at everything. I really need to step it up a notch, but i'm just so tired and I don't feel like doing ANYTHING.

It comes and goes...this week is going okay, but I am stressed because i need to get this document signed off and the other project manager is on vacation and I have to do her stuff as well.
I usually start the week off strong and by Friday, I just want to stay in bed all day.

YES. I never feel like anyone gets the best of me anymore. I am working full time, a mom, trying to organize a new house and also be a wife in there somewhere. We eat piazza or Mac&chz like every night. Nutrition? What's that? :(I left at 3:30 Monday and felt awful, took Tuesday off and still came in for 2 hrs bc i am so behind on work.

There are a few things that are slipping through the cracks right now. Mostly our long term planning (goals, savings, etc) and just general budgeting.

YESSSS!!! It's exhausting WOHM full time and taking care of 2 kids. I cut corners a lot but still feel like I'm not getting anything done!

YES. I keep telling myself if LO would just finally STTN things would be better...

YES. Worked 50 hours last week, same this week only with a cold and training a temp, have sitters at the house because DH is working out of the house this week. SO STRESSED/BURNT OUT.
Seriously, cannot wait for this weekend to be here already.

@JoJoGirl: DS has been sleeping through the night for a while, like over a year, and I still can't sleep soundly. I think it's mothers ears or mother's anxiety... awful

@2PeasinaPod: hugs.. yay for LOs first bday!
I'm actually ok this week. Last week SUCKED. I was in tears from thursday on. Of course, that is due to B's horrific experience at daycare.

@T.H.O.U.: This is where I am struggling right now, too.
It's hard to stay motivated for work (I'd always rather be doing something else for the other parts of my life), but we moved into a new home in July and things are just all sorts of crazy.
I haven't updated our budget or kept track of expenses since then, I'm cooking again but not monitoring my grocery spending like I should, we're bleeding money on a leaking porch roof, garage door install, and the car that died and is sitting in our yard waiting for me to just take some damn photos to list it on craigslist, and savings? I'm just trying to dig out of the hole that was created when we spent all that on our downpayment and then spent some more on unexpected expenses.
And of course, I'm applying for a new job which would add to my crazy but would also offer a lot more money and the chance to get back to where we used to be while maybe even getting ahead.
I keep telling myself it will get better when X or Y or Z but then those things happen and there's something else added to the plate...

Ugh, yes. I almost wish I would get sick so I would HAVE to stay home and recharge a little. But, my luck, I would be super sick Sat and Sun X-(

@2PeasinaPod: aww, hugs mama. That is a lot for one week.
The last two weeks have been rough. LO had pinkeye, then a fever, then she sliced her tongue, then she got a bad cold... all of that resulted in very little sleep for me and then I got a bad cold and completely lost my voice. Work has been really busy and my DH is still having major issues... so EVERYTHING related to our lives falls on me... I am the one who does everything for LO (feeding, diapering, dressing, am/pm routines, arranging sitters for when DH is home alone with her, doctor's appointments, etc.), the dog, the house (bills, groceries, laundry), etc. I wish my family didn't live across the country, I could use a break.

YES! I'm in need of a vacation, thank goodness we are taking next Tuesday off to go to the pumpkin patch! And then the following week I will have a 4 day weekend..much needed!

@swurlygurl: I've been sick twice in the last month - both times it started on a Friday and I was sick all weekend, but well enough to work Monday. And of course, DH caught it from me on Sunday so he stayed home Monday and got to rest some without a baby around. Of course.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Yes, especially when she sleeps like crap. I feel ok today, though, since i wore earplugs to bed and it was DH's night. Girl needs to get her sleep on, and then we'll all function better. She has little bags under her baby eyes

@blackbird: It breaks my heart when R has bags too.

Yes - LO has pneumonia and an ear infection. I have only worked 5 hours this week. I haven't slept in forever and I think I just got her bug.

@lindseykaye: That is how it ALWAYS happen! So not fair... I think the men plan it somehow...
pear / 1510 posts
Absolutely. I'm hunkering down in my office hoping no one asks me for anything. I just want to go home and sleep and/or play with LO. Neither is happening.
@78h2o: That sounds really rough. I hope things get better soon.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@blackbird: aww, I hate when LO get's bags. It only really happens when she's sick and not sleeping well, but still, it's so pathetic/sad.
@BlueWolverine: Thanks.

@JoJoGirl: what is this thing ... STTN....is there a class for it our kids can take somewhere?
And YES. I need a break. Our whole little family has been coughing for weeks. My husband has been sleeping on the couch all week which means middle of the night wake-ups are on me. All I want to do is go home, curl up with my little kiddo and sleep for days. And for her to sleep for days snuggled next to me.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@smurfette, they're just so SAD. I'm like, BABY BAGS AHHHHH.

I am SO glad I have a bed rail on my bed because this morning I brought LO into my bed to nurse around 3am and accidentally fell asleep. I have never done that before!!! I woke up at 5:45 to her sitting up next to me playing with the monitor... I was so confused and it scared the crap about of me. Ihadn't meant to fall asleep and I didn't know she was there. So glad the rail was there so she didn't fall out of bed, but still scary. No more nursing laying down.

Yep. Super burnt out. I hate feeling like I'm not giving 100% to anything Plus I'm really not a fan of my work situation right now so that does not help!
Honestly the only thing that really keeps me going is that it makes me so happy to get home (finally!) and play with my LO for about an hour before it's time to get ready for bed. I've been trying my best to remember that it's all worth it.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
I totally know what you mean about feeling spread too thin, but we really shouldn't ever feel the need to give 100% to any one area of life though... it's normal and healthy to have multiple priorities, we just need to make sure that the way we are slicing the "pie" (the time in our day) is in line with what matters most.... ALL our time/energy can't all go to work, to LO(s), to a SO, to family, to friends, to ourselves, etc... it HAS to be shared and that's okay as long as it's getting shared in a way that reflects priorities! (if that makes sense)!

My kid screamed (for no obvious reason) from midnight until 3am last night. I'm beat.

I'm in school, not working, but yes, I'm already burnt out, and I still have over 2 months left of the semester.

Yes, it's hard especially when the kids are sick or going through multiple wake ups. Sleep (or lack of) makes a huge difference in how I perform at work! Since I'm perpetually tired ever since I became a mom, I feel like I'm never able to give my all!
honeydew / 7488 posts
Yes, feeling a little burnt out.. so glad that the weekend is almost here! My only saving grace is that the cleaning lady came yesterday and I have dinner planned out (ok so I had to stay up till midnight last night to actually cook it).
