We are planning a trip to the US to buy a double stroller. Seeing the city we are going to is small I need to order the stuff ahead of time and get it shipped to the store, pick it u,p, Assemble them in the hotel room, Try them, unassemble 1 and return it.
I looked at their return policy and it says I can return a big item under 300$ at the store otherwise I need to ship it back. Clearly I can't ship back so I have to make sure I'm in the clear.
Any pros with WM returning policy?

I've never tried to return anything over $300, so I'm not sure about that but I do know that Walmart has a crazy easy return system. They pretty much take anything back. I've seen people return half empty boxes of cereal.

I didn't return anything over that dollar amount but did run into problems returning baby shower items that didn't come with a gift receipt. Good luck.

My mom has bought stuff all the time at Walmart and returned it, receipt or no. She did return a sewing machine once, which i'm sure was at least $200, but not sure it was $300+.

The only other thing I'd check on is the warranty, does it void the warranty if you take it out of the country...only reason why I know is because I bought a couch to take to Europe and that voided the warranty for stain protection.

@purrpletulips: really? that's so odd. i almost never have a receipt when i return things to walmart. i've never had a problem. i definitely have problems with target though!
i had a friend who worked at walmart in high school and people used to return their christmas trees, lights, bulbs, stockings, and other decorations all at the same time a couple days after christmas. they weren't even required to show a receipt. i think that's so ridiculous.. haha

@photojane: I was told that the policy is no more than 4 returns without a receipt in a 6 month period. That was about a year and a half ago. We don't typically shop at Walmart and I too was surprised because I had always heard they had a very liberal return policy. However I also know someone who was denied returns of infant formula without a receipt (she had bought in bulk during a sale but then had to switch to specialized formula); apparently that was because people will use WIC to purchase things and then try to return them without a receipt to get the cash.

@looch: We won't take it out of the country. I'm actually doing to test it out in the US before we head back to Canada.
I realized that I can't buy an infant car seat in the US so I'll have to return that item without even leaving with it. It's not super pricey so technically I shouldn't have a problem.

Ive heard walmart has an easy return policy. People will return things they haven't even bought there.

@Mrs. Sunglasses: I am confused then, don't you live in Canada? Are you buying the products to just use in the US? If you buy a product in the US and take it out of the country for regular use, it could void the warranty. I'd check on the policy.

@looch: at that price honestly I get 2 stroller for the price of one. So it's not a big deal. Of something does happen I'll try contacting baby trend directly. In hopes their customer service is good.

We had a friend who when on his medical residency (in various parts of the province we live in) would buy a flat screen tv from Wal-Mart for the one, two, or three weeks he was posted somewhere and then at the end of it would RETURN IT. EVERYTIME!
So I think... they're pretty flexible. haha.
