Just received ours and opened the plastic and the mattress literally burst open and knocked over a bunch of stuff in my room. No instructions or warning on the package. How has someone not been injured by this?? Did I do something wrong? So strange.

We bought a latex mattress that came rolled but there were instructions how to open it.

@skipra: Now I've looked at a few youtube videos and I know exactly what happened, there was a bottom layer of plastic that you're supposed to leave until it unrolls, then cut that off. But there were no instructions so I just cut everything and thats why the pressure released so quickly.

I did that too. I was excited and just opened it only to discover the directions after I was surprised.

I had the exact opposite happen. Mine didn't want to unroll even when we followed the directions.

I don't remember if there were instructions on the box or what (leesa) but I watched some YouTube videos of people opening them first.
I love my mattress though!! It's been great. Hope you love it once it firms up!

Sounds scary! Glad you're okay! Also, is it an awesome mattress? I hate mine.

@maddyz: Okay I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one but not glad you did it too!! I felt so dumb after I figured out what I did wrong but there should have been instructions! I emailed the company and they took it seriously and want to schedule a call to find out the details.
@Mrs. Sunshine: I like it so far! It's called Avocado Green Mattress and it's all natural. Latex/cotton/wool and pocket springs. No chemicals or anything scary. I spent a long time trying to find a reasonably priced organic mattress and it was much less than everything else. About $1700 for a queen.
@Anya: Hehe I watched the videos after and felt really dumb...

We got a linenspa memory foam one off Amazon. Luckily there were instructions and I already read off reviews that it comes rolled up.

@turquoisemama: I did the same thing but luckily it was a twin so it didn't have as much power.

@tequiero21: Do you like your LinenSpa mattress? I was just looking at the 8" Memory Foam and Innerspring Hybrid Mattress LinenSpa mattress (twin) for DD's big girl bed. I'm so nervous ordering a mattress online!

@SweetCaroline: we've only had it for a few months but so far, we like it! Got it for my twins' bunk bed and it seems pretty comfortable. More comfy than my king mattress which cost a whole lot more! Lol.

We have a couple of mattresses from Tuft and Needle and love them. They included instructions so it was easy to get it set up.

I don't remember how it came up... but I spend a good hour one day watching people unroll these things on Youtube. Some more controlled than others.

@tequiero21: @SweetCaroline: hey- just wondering after all this time if either of you have an update on the linenspa bed? Thinking of that for my 3 year or just getting one from a mattress store...

@Foodnerd81: The only reason I dont like it is because it's a twin Its decent enough we bought a second for the top bunk. In retrospect, I'd have tried to find something thinner for the top bunk so more clearance above the railing. However, for a normal bed or a bottom bunk I'd def do it again!

@SweetCaroline: thanks! Yeah it’s for a low regular twin bed. I nervous it will be comfy immediately then sink and be lumpy and flat after 2-3 years.

@Foodnerd81: we have had one of ours for over 2 years and it's like new.
