I ran a half marathon 5 years ago. Afterwards, I kissed running goodbye more or less because I was so burnt out from training but I sure did love that experience. Now, I have a good 10 lbs of baby weight hanging on for dear life and while I don't expect training to make it go away, I just want to be active again. I looked at the website for the local marathon in April and just about threw up from anxiety as I considered training again. I am currently trying to find a friend to convince me to do it. Those long runs on the weekends would definitely require some support!
Anyone else in the same boat?
). I'm hoping that if I maintain a decent mileage base, it won't be too hard to stay in shape throughout the year.
I think what I'm most nervous about is doing the long runs. I'm not sure I could be motivated to do them by myself. I had two friends to train with last time but it doesn't look like it would be the case this year.
