We are supposed to get 20-30 inches of snow this weekend with blizzard conditions. I have never seen that my much snow at one time. 20-30 inches of snow is nuts!

We're not supposed to get hit. But I feel like whenever they predict that much snow is never when you get a blizzard!

We are! My husband has to manage snow removal for his company so he left this morning and probably won't be back until Monday.
I'm more than a little nervous to be locked in the house with a 16 month old by myself for 3 days >.<

We are! I'm excited but now this morning am wondering how I should actually be preparing for this (potential loss of power and what not) I mean, we've got food but not a ton of non perishable ready to eat stuff if we lose power!

I think we'll miss the blizzard, but we're estimated to get between 3-8 inches just north of NYC. That's a normal storm for us.
For those of you that have never seen 2 feet of snow, my advice is to try to shovel every couple of hours, otherwise it gets too heavy. Good luck! Stay warm and play!

Not in the US but we're supposed to get massive ice rain within the next couple of hours. Yikes...

We are! We went to get groceries, toilet paper, and library books last night! Lol

@yellowbird: If I recall you live near my brother and yes you guys are going to get hit the worst I think!
We are getting around 12 inches - perfect for some snow time for the kids!

@creativemomma15: Ha ha. Central PA? This area is so weird when it comes to these storms. Completely unpredictable!

@Mamaof2: yes!! I remember you mentioning that he lives near me! Such a small world. I am excited about the snow but a little nervous. Hoping we don't lose power!

We're supposed to be hit with a lot of snow, but I predict only a few inches. The kids are excited for snow.

I think we'll end up only getting a few inches, but everything for the weekend has been canceled, just in case.

My family all will be -- they're right outside DC, where I grew up. We won't get snow here in Texas, though I'm almost sad to be missing the excitement! Stay safe everyone!!

A week ago they were saying we'd be getting a foot of snow, but now we're not expected to get anything. The storm is going to miss us, thankfully!

Yep, we are in NOVA! I'm grateful that we live in an apartment, and I don't have to deal with shoveling

Expecting for all day Saturday at least. Sunday we have a birthday party at the state museum and I'm hoping things are a little cleared out by then. @littlebug: I didn't know you were in central PA now...welcome back!

Our forecast has been all over the place, but as of right now they're predicting "near blizzard" conditions with anywhere from 3-8 inches of snow. We are right on the coast (Connecticut) so we also have our share of coastal flood advisories.

@dagret: Thanks! We've been back about a year now! We're over on the West Shore.

Yup. So glad me moved into a house with a garage this year!
DH bought some food, but I went and got some more non-perishable stuff today. And some logs in case we lose power.

Yes! We are in the "worst" part of the storm. Expecting over 2 ft! Can't wait

Yes, looks like a lot for us- Philadelphia area. I'm planning to make chili Saturday night and my husband is excited to play outside with our little guy. He might have to do storm work (utility company) but not until Sunday. It'll limit our weekend plans, we don't do that much usually anyway and during the week I'd be expected to work from home with my toddler.

@littlebug: Yup! It is a weird area. My dad is still really skeptical it's going to happen

Yes, another NOVA bee...school was cancelled yesterday and today, so I already have cabin fever!

@creativemomma15: @littlebug: My mom moved up from TX and this is her first winter and she keeps forwarding me all the weather alerts/predictions she's getting...I just keep telling her we'll get somewhere between 0"-24"

This is crazy to me. We are in Wisconsin and it has been such a warm/no snow winter. We only had to shovel twice this year. It's kind of surreal to hear about everyone else complain about snow when we are usually the ones complaining.

Nope, not me and I'm so glad! Boston deserves a break after last year.

People are crazy here... Freaking out about trash cans on the street, etc.... And the snow just started... It's going to be a long storm....

I think we're supposed to get snow next week. There is no such thing as too much snow where I live though. I use to dream about snow days... it never happens. Yay Canada!
persimmon / 1458 posts
Yes, we're on the border of getting 10-15 inches and 15-20 inches! Just hoping not to lose power!

No, but I wish! I want an excuse to stay in and watch movies/read/color...lol!

We've gotten about 7in of snow today - that is "snowed in" level here in the south
