So in 2015 me and DH will be married 10 years and we want to go on a big trip!
I have been seeing really cool trips on Living Social for amazing prices!!!!
They seem too good to be true though - anyone ever use them ? What was your experience?

I haven't, but my SIL and her boyfriend booked a trip through them to Antigua last year (maybe 2 years ago?) and raved about it. Nothing but good things to say about the whole experience, from start to finish!
I would check about things like hotels, though, assuming it's included. I was looking at a local-ish deal for our anniversary weekend last year but the reviews of the included hotel were bad enough to make me nix the idea.

@lovehoneybee: Thanks - good idea to check out hotel reviews separately!

I've used Groupon before and didn't have an issue. You do need to read the fine print. Most of them have date restrictions (usually not on/around holidays). Check out the review of the hotels first, just so there's no big surprise. Good luck! THere's some great deals on them!

@pmerr: Thanks! yes I did notice that in the fine print (not sure if it was LS or groupon) that after you purchase if the dates you want aren't available they will refund you - that's nice to know!

@Mamaof2: Yeah I didn't check the dates first, and waited too long because they have a limited time for returns (within 1 week/month, whatever). Check their return/cancellation policy.

I purchased a groupon trip and it was totally fine! I second checking the fine print and faq's though...nothing happened to me, but I've seen some sneaky things hidden in some of those deals.

@Mamaof2: We did Groupon for our pre-baby trip to the Bahamas. We had no issues with it & it worked great! have fun!

Yup!! We booked an amazing resort to Cancun and it was great! Here's my recap - http://www.hellobee.com/2013/06/21/destination-cancun-mexico/
I would just make sure you call the destination that you plan to book in advance to make sure they have availability during the time you want to go, and read through all the fine print on both Living Social and the destination to understand the refund policy. I've never had any problems getting refunds on Living Social - I think they have great customer service.
I always read hotel reviews on TripAdvisor too to make sure the place I'm booking is good.

We kinda did. We saw a trip to Antigua on one of those email deals that definitely piqued our interest for our honeymoon. My husband called the resort to find out if he could get the same price booking directly through them, and we were able to! I liked doing it that way because we had extra assurance that our booking was real, and the resort makes more money than they would if they had to give the deal site a cut.

I haven't, but my SIL and her husband did Ireland for the second time last year, and booked through a Groupon. They did all the planning in their first trip, so they had something to compare it to, and had only good things to say about using the Groupon deal. Just read the fine print and you'll be fine!
