I finished my AA before having my son, and this fall I will be going back to finish my bachelors. My son will be 6 mos old when I start, I think I will do a combination of online and on-campus, the school is only 2.5 miles from my house.
Anyone else every gone to school while being a mom, or a SAHM? I am nervous about being able to balance taking care of him and doing well in school.

Nope. Eventually I might go back because I need another class if I want to be licensed. But I'm in no rush. Good luck!

@miss-spunkin: Therapist. I have my masters in art therapy, but for some reason our program didn't include 3 classes that it takes to become licensed. I took two of them already, just one more!

Sorry I don't have any advice but I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else says. I'm due in September and I've been thinking about going back to school but wonder what its going to be like with a child.

I had DD (2.5yo), worked fulltime and went to night class. Oh, and made it through my first trimester all in one semester!
I won't lie, it was tough. I only took one class, 2 nights a week but it was hard on me and my family. I would work all day, head straight to campus (@miss-spunkin: the U of M East Bank), eat something, sit in class and then go home. There were nights I didn't get home until after DD had gone to bed, which really sucked.
DH picked up a lot of slack for me and we tried to crockpot on nights when I wouldn't be home so that he didn't have to worry about dinner. He's a teacher so he's all for education so he was extremely supportive.
I can't see myself doing it with small kids for long term. But I'm glad I did because I finished my BS and got my diploma!

@miss-spunkin: I go to school with a girl who had her son in August and was at class 6 days later!! She's a SAHM and we go to class at night (5-8). Her husband works his schedule around her classes so that he can be home to watch the baby. If he's not available, she has family nearby. Hopefully you have people available to help out! It is definitely doable!

@chopsuey119: well, technically I had two years left, but the school I'm going to (@volksgirl64: MN School of Business) does an accelerated program so if I can go full-time each quarter then I can finish in 18 months. Yup - my mom and sister are both pretty close. And I'll prob have my husband take my son most weekends so I can do homework.
@volksgirl64: Yeah that's crazy. Thankfully I'm not working right now and when I do start school I'll only be working 1-2 days a week, and my son can actually come with me.
@PBandBaseball: good grief. I could still hardly walk around 6 days after lol!

My daughter was 20 months or so when I started working on my Master's. I take two classes per semester and try to take them on-line, although I do have to go to class some semesters. It just kind of depends on what's offered and at what time. (I work full-time as well so I can only take classes at certain times of the day/week.) My mom takes my daughter for a couple hours once a week (she does a Kindermusik class with her) and my MIL will take her for the evening if I really need to work on something during the week. My husband gives me some time on the weekends to work on stuff as well. So, it's much easier to accomplish if you have a lot of support.
I'd say the hardest part for me is guilt. Whenever I play with my daughter, I feel like I'm being lazy and not doing my school work, and whenever I'm doing school work I feel like I'm neglecting her. It's also hard because I can't put all of myself into my school work, so I'm a B+ student instead of an A, and that KILLS me because I like being an A student. But it still works out and I'll get a degree with B+s, so I have to give myself a break on that. I'm interested to see how things go when the new baby gets here! I'm due June 10 and am taking a six week concentrated class from May 15-June 22, so it should be an interesting class- thank God it's online. 
I should graduate December 2013, so it should be fun finishing up the next year and a half with two kids. But I am SO excited to have them there seeing me at my graduation! It will all be worth it.

I'm working on my Master's right now; I started when DD was about 15 months old, made it all the way through pregnancy with #2, and I should graduate next summer, when DD is 3 and DS turns 1.
Honestly, it's not that bad, but that's because I'm doing my entire degree online. The worst part was working full-time, being pregnant and trying to do my schoolwork. I basically had to do school every night after DD went to bed and for a few hours on the weekends, just to keep up. Now that DS is here and I'm officially a SAHM, it hasn't been bad at all; in fact, I'm working ahead in my classes! I do my schoolwork while DD naps (1-3/4 in the afternoon); DS has also been napping during this time, so I've been doing schoolwork every day while the house is nice and quiet. I'll still have to do some time on the weekends, but that's what daddy/babies bonding time is for.
I totally agree with the pp who said it's so much easier if you have a good support system. If your partner can take the baby sometimes so you can study or do homework, that's so helpful. Also, it takes a lot of motivation, so if you're the type of person who likes being busy and has no issues with self-motivation, you should be fine.
