I went off of hormonal BC back in April. We've been P&P since. We don't want to ttc until I finish up this cycle (so next week).
My question is: has anyone gotten pregnant when their partner has pulled out?
I mean 100% pulled out, no mistakes.

I know lots of people (patients) who got pregnant this way.

@Mrs. Jacks: hahaha. I can only imagine. I have a good friend who is a pediatric resident at Vandy and some of the stories she tells me are insane!

No, we used it along with NFP for years without any oopses. The cycle we stopped I got pregnant - both times.

We're like @Mrsjets:, used it successfully along w/ NFP for over a year. And when we decided to go for it - baby.

Yes that's how I got pregnant. Though I can't be 100% certain of it.

Another one who used it successfully along with NFP, but only for a few months. I was tracking when I was most fertile and we were super duper extra careful those days.
I know at least 2 pull out babies though.

DH and I were together for 12 years with p&p with no accidents. We didn't think it was possible and thought that meant we had issues. I have heard some people say p&p doesn't work when the guy doesn't have enough self control to pull out early enough!? Makes sense to me!

Nope! But I've always tried to avoid the "middleish" of my cycle when doing that...which has been difficult having irregular cycles!

@Mrsjets: me too! I've used it for years with no mistakes and no "accidents". And the first cycle we didn't pull out, I got knocked up.
One of my HS friends got knocked up when we were 18 from "pulling out". It wasn't until years and years later that she told me he hadn't really pulled out on time---like half in, half out. I was like...ah....that doesn't count as the pull-out method then. That's like putting on a condom, letting it slip off inside the vag, and then saying condoms don't work.

Yes I agree with @regberadaisy. When I hear about P&P babies it makes me wonder if they were doing it "correctly." Same thing I wonder when I hear some other birth control method "failed."

@sloaneandpuffy: I secretly think this too! Of course I'd never say it, but statistically, bc methods CAN'T fail at the rates I hear about them failing, IF used correctly!

@yin: @sloaneandpuffy: @Anagram: @Foodnerd81: @indi: @Mrsjets: I know it can be successful when done correctly (we do it correctly) BUT: I've heard (read) that if you have sex twice within hours of each other, you can get pregnant because his sperm will be present in pre-ejaculation.
We are 2-time/night kind of people, so now I am worried.
@autumnlove: lol! you, and your 2 under 2!
@Mrs. Jacks: lol, poor you; I can only imagine!
@matador84: uh-oh. Both times??

@TurtleDoves: G's dad & I used that for 2.5 years before getting pregnant.. I'm pretty sure we didn't have any slips but it's really hard for me to remember that far back... I know there was a time that we didn't p&p but I think I might have already been pregnant (I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks). We were together 2.5 more years after that & never had another scare/pregnancy..... consider DH & I have got pregnant first try twice now I'd say that G's dad used the method correctly. lol

@TurtleDoves: yeah I have definitely heard the same about twice within a short time frame. Does he always pee in between? That should help I think?
I sort of feel like if you are that close to ttc anyway, does it really matter if you take a little extra risk? At least that's how I felt when we were pulling out pre ttc.

@Foodnerd81: I feel the same! I would be EXSTATIC if I was pregnant right now. Sure, it's a month early, but what is a month in the grand scheme of things? I am just kind of worried because I work out a ton and just started prenatals like 2 weeks ago oh well.

We have used that method periodically, no mess ups. Ive always wondered if the ppl who TRULY pulled out ever got pregnant. Tbh, if they said they did and still got pregnant I didnt believe them.

@citymouse: I know...but who really knows. Pregnancies are miracles? I keep asking dh, "are you sure?!" Because I feel off. I might just be crazy though. We will know in about 10 days.
