At my ultrasound today, my cervix measured shorter than it did last week. The doctor says I now fall into the category of getting a cerclage to keep it from shortening further. Anyone have one done? Thoughts? Advice?

Hey - I don't have advice, but my SIL had one and she has a healthy 6 year old now. Good luck.

I had one put in at 21 weeks. It was an awkward surgery. But not painful and barely any bleeding for me. Just had it removed this past Wednesday at 37 weeks. It was uncomfortable(like a pap smear kinda) getting it remove do but I didn't experience any bleeding. My first was born at 31 weeks. I'm currently at 37. So I'm happy w the results so far.

@Sasama: Thanks for responding. If you don't mind me asking, how long was your cervix when it was put in? Did you have an epidural or general anthesia?
