My DH works FT but usually has two days off with the kids during the week. The LOs go to daycare and preschool 3x a week. He takes them to classes, park, museums, bounce places, hikes and storytimes. He hasn't had much luck with meeting up with other moms/dads.

My DH works short hours and an odd schedule. It's different every week and only during the school year, but it's usually 2:30-7pm. That means he's the one that gets up with LO, he does breakfast, lunch and errands, takes him to preschool at 1pm. He does sports photography for private schools, so if they are only doing portraits and are local, sometimes he'll be back in time to pick up J before 5pm, too. He knows the kids and the parents better than I do.
In the summers when he's not working, he takes J to the pool, Legoland (we're members), library craft & story time and the playgrounds. Sometimes I get jealous getting text messages of all the fun they're having, but I'm happy he gets to do fun things with his dad.

My husband is currently a short-term sahd. He doesn't go to any play dates or classes because i haven't arranged any for him. He has just been enjoying having dd all to himself!

DH is a SAHD. He attends activities only if I sign her up for them, and usually they're things I can join in on as well (for instance, library time but it's near my work, so I was allowed to take my lunch early to go.) She's in swim classes but they're Saturday morning, so we both go. Mostly he plays with her out in the backyard or in our playroom. She goes to daycare two days a week.

My dad was a work at home dad from the time I was 6. We would still go to daycare or aftercare but he would pick us up early and take us to all of our activities. He coached my softball team, and came and got us from school if we were sick, had Dr appts, forgot our lunch or glasses. As we got older, my friends were always at our house since my dad was home to keep an eye on us and our chauffeur to take us places (mall, CCD, after school jobs, etc). He helped with homework and esp loved working on the big projects like building a cardboard castle, ecosystem diorama, paper airplanes for physics.

DH takes DS to gymboree, but finds the other parents not very friendly. He has not been really successful with play dates, although I do not know how hard he tries. They go swimming in our pool, to the park, and to the mall pretty regularly.

My hubby was a sahd. I think he even wrote a blog post or two. He started his own sahd group and we're still really good friends with many of the families we met through that.
