We might be moving there soon and would love some recommendations on places to look that are family friendly! Something that has good school districts and lots of things to do with kids! eta: my husband will be traveling from york/harrisburg/reading throughout the week for work.

That is the area I grew up in, and there are tons of things to do with kids. I would personally look into Elizabethtown, Ephrata, Manheim in Lancaster county - they are sort of central to York and Reading, easy drives to each (and Harrisburg too.) But any of the areas are really great and central to a lot of things, with great schools as long as you stay away from inner city. There is Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster County, Hershey attractions, plenty of parks and playgrounds, historical things at Harrisburg and Gettysburg, all within a very easy drive.
