How do you do this?
What subscriptions do you have (Netflix, Hulu, etc.)?
Do you think it saves you money?

We have Netflix & Hulu and it definitely saves us money! We do stream church & occasionally other shows but for the most part we're able to stay current through Hulu. We use an hdmi cable to hook it up.

@runsyellowlites: Thanks for your response. I'm really not familiar with Hulu... what kind of shows can you get through it and how much does it cost? Can you get news, etc?

We did for a long time. We got cable for my maternity leave because I got terribly bored during marathon nursing sessions.
We streamed Hulu and Netflix from an Apple TV. I didn't feel like we missed out on much. We could probably get rid of cable again but I like the mindless surfing.

@78h2o: We only stream Netflix (don't receive any discs) & it costs 8.65/mth, Hulu is 8.49/mth. We watch/keep up with Bones, New Girl (it's my bad tv), Arrow, Go On, Guys With Kids, & Jimmy Fallon. I know there are TONS other shows too, we used to watch Hart of Dixie & Chicago Fire.

We do! We use a Roku, Hulu+, and Amazon Prime for everything. We don't feel like we're missing out at all.

We have Netflix. I'm not sure if it really saves us money exactly, but we hardly ever watch anything so for us having cable would be pretty silly. Typically we use my tablet and attach it with a HDMI cable to the TV (runs through the receiver). Works for us.

Yep no clue what cable costs anymore since we've never had it but we use amazon instant viewing.

I have cable still, but when we move in a few months i am thiking of going without, since I mostly watch streaming video. We have a roku player and it works great!

We pay for the Netflix without discs and use free Hulu and that's it.

Our cable + internet is ~$120/mo... I'd have to figure out another way to get internet, but I'm really sick of that bill!
Thanks everyone for the input.
ETA: I have Amazon Prime but have never used it for shows/movies... I will have to check it out and see if I can figure out how to do the HDMI thing.

@78h2o: Our Internet is 28 a mth with AT&T so we come out to just under $50 a mth, not bad!

we use a roku and pay for hulu plus, netflix and amazon prime (not really for the shows, but it works) and it still saves us money. we have pretty blazing internet but we could probably save more if we downgraded.
