Anyone not kiss their LO on the lips?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets weirded out by lip kissing anyone other than your SO. I have a picture of me kissing my mom on the lips when I was 2-ish, so apparently my family did that some, but not that I actually remember. And I've definitely never seen any adult family members kissing their LO's on the mouth. I guess my feelings might change once LO gets here, but as a former nanny I can say I was never once even remotely tempted to kiss one of my nanny kids on the lips, and I definitely gave them kisses on their heads/faces/toes/whatever.

I kiss her forehead, I kiss her cheeks, I kiss her head, I kiss her tummy, I kiss her feet, I kiss her thighs..... but I don't kiss her lips. DH does though. Maybe I will when she kisses back but right now I just get a big open mouth and it's weird to kiss it!!!

She used to always try the open mouth kiss on the lips, but I've trained her to kiss my cheek instead.

I grew up in a family where we kiss on the mouth and we'll definitely kiss DD on the mouth when she's here!

I can't get enough of kissing him on the lips and everywhere else! This despite (or because of) the fact that my family wasn't affectionate or kissy at all growing up.

My family never kissed on the lips, but I kiss dd on the lips all the time. I love sweet baby breath. I don't let anyone else (other than my DH obviously) kiss her on the mouth. I had to ask my sister to stop.

I did not grow up in a lip-kissing family either, so I also find it kind of odd. I'm hoping that avoiding this with DS helps me not to get sick constantly with his daycare colds! Currently trying to get over a pretty bad one..

I still kiss my mom and dad on the lips! Haha I never really thought about it! We're a pretty affectionate family. I kiss LO on the lips all the time. I would only stop if she didn't want to. I just don't think a quick peck is comparable to romantic kisses but I'm sure a big part of it is how you grow up.

I have only ever kissed DH on the lips so I never imagined kissing our kids on the lips but I totally do!!! Well, I kiss DS on the lips...probably because that's where he wants to give us kisses? I love it though! I kiss the baby on her head or cheek.

I kiss him on the lips all the time!!! I remember reading that I shouldn't do that when he was a newborn but I did it anyway. I don't understand the big deal. I each their own though.

My family is not a lip-kissing family, and neither is DH's so it usually just seems strange to me, although I've done it a couple of times, and they definitely "kiss" (read, open mouth full of slobber) anywhere they can reach, including the lips. I think all their slobbery kisses are adorable, so that makes me more comfortable with it, but I don't think I could do that long term. Just not for us.

I kiss her on the cheeks. If I tried to kiss her on the lips she would just open her mouth.

I kiss them on the lips all the time!! So hard to resist their cute lil' lips.

I'm used to it because I got lip kisses from my mom all my life… she still does it to this day!

There is nothing better than asking DS for a kiss and having him come in with a big slobbery one.

I kiss DS on the lips all the time. I didn't really when she was a tiny baby, and probably won't when she's older, but she's 6 months now, and likes a big noisy MWAH kiss. She sticks her little hands on both sides of my face and it's just too cute.

I kiss him on the lips all the time! He's only 2.5 months and just sooo sweet! I'm sure it will stop when he's older, though.

Nope. I don't do it and neither does my husband. I prefer cheek and head kisses. And cuddles.

I sniff her baby's breath then kiss her on her juicy, chubby cheeks. I don't kiss LO on her lips because she ends up licking my face so I just avoid it.

I kiss my DD on the lips. She's getting older now and knows not to slobber I think it's super sweet. It'll probably change as she gets older, but for now, I'm enjoying it!

@mrsjazz: I kiss E's feet too, and I usually hate feet!

I kiss him on the lips occasionally, but he usually gets distracted by something and turns his head so I get his cheek or head. My ILs kiss both me and D on the lips. It was a little weird at first, because my family wasn't really physically affectionate, but it's very normal to me now.

i like to try and kiss LO on the lips, but it's usually pretty slobbery (on his end, haha). so i mostly give head and cheek kisses.

Nope. I think it's weird and one of the three of us is always sick so I try to keep bodily fluid contact to the minimum...

I wouldn't be able to resist with my newborn, we just want to eat each other up. My 2 year old it's more cuddles and cheek and forehead kisses now but we still give each other pecks on the lip if I'm going somewhere. And I agree with the feet comment, I don't go around kissing people's feet but baby feet are too cute not to be kissed.

I kiss all over my baby's face but usually not in the lips unless she turns when I am about to kiss her cheek.
