I know your period stops with certain birth controls, but I've also read that it's healthy for your body to have a monthly period.
We're going to visit my parents this week so I intentionally skipped my period (I'm taking birth control pills).
Anyone take birth control and not get a period? What do you take?

I have an IUD and have no period. FWIW, I had an IUD + no period for over 2 years prior to getting pregnant with LO, and as soon as I had the IUD removed my period came back, super regular.

@Mrs. Bee: I'm on Mirena, so I don't get a period at all. From what I understand, there can be a build up of something in your blood (iron?), but it's not super common. I figured that things like Mirena wouldn't be on the market if it was bad for you to not get your period!

I was on the nuvaring for some years and always skipped the withdrawal bleeding per dr. orders because the break would give me a migraine.

I didn't have a period the entire time I was on the mini-pill. My doctor said it was fairly common.

I'm on junel generic and I hardly get one. I never intentionally skip - but what I get is extremely light and nearly nonexistant. what's odd is that I was on this exact same brand pre-baby, and I still had a full period (still not as heavy, but there was definitely one). But now, I don't.

Me. I skip my period for months on end by taking back to back pills. I have endometriosis, so it's not good for me to have a period. It contributes to infertility. Anyways, it's really awesome never having a period 
I just take the generic pill. Can't remember the name of it now.

I took Yasmin and skipped periods per my doctors orders. I got one 3-4 times a year.

I agree that if I needed to skip I took pills back to back. My doctor said it was ok as long as I had a period every 3-6 months. I was getting terrible menstrual migraines.

I took yaz before I got pregnant, and even though I took the placebo pills I never got withdrawal bleeding. My doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about. I have Mirena now, and also do not get a period.
