Did they flip? I know he has plenty of time to flip but it worries me. My first son was already head down at the 20 weeks scan. Just looking for reassurance that other babies have been breach early on but flipped.

Yep. DS was breech at the anatomy scan, and at my follow up a few weeks later. He flipped at some point though! Most do, I know I was really worried he wasnt going to.

DD was breech at every ultrasound (I had them at every OB appointment) until 28 weeks. She'd flipped on her own and stayed that way to the end.

I didn't even know that they call it "breech" at that point because they are so little. They didn't say she was "breech" but she was basically sitting upright cross-legged on my cervix so she was. Didn't even occur to me to worry about it at that point.

LO was transverse at my 20 week. The doc didn't even make mention of position because it just doesn't mean much at this point.

Mine was breech at my anatomy scan...for about 10 minutes, before she flipped around during the scan, lol! There's still plenty of room to move around!

Yup my LO was feet down but the doctor said it wasn't an issue yet. She turned transverse around 32 weeks but was head down at 37 weeks.

DD(my second child) was transverse breech at all my ultrasounds(I had 4) and at my 38 week appointment she was still breech. I was already having a scheduled(repeat) csection, so we didn't really care too much at her position. I had her at 39 weeks 1 day, and she had (unbeknownst to me) flipped heads down sometime between then and my 38 week appointment! So he definitely has time to flip

Thanks all. I know I'm being silly worrying so I shall stop. it's just hard not to compare to my first. This little guy kicks my pelvis all day long and DS#1 never kicked that low. I'm Guessing since stats are in my favor, he'll turn.

@travellingbee: at my ultrasound at 29/30 weeks he was breech, they still said there was time, I knew he was moving a TON, I was googling positions to sit in etc to get him head down. But at my US & appt. this week he was head down (34 weeks) yay! So I think you DEF still have time!!

M was breech from 20 weeks until my last scan 3 days before my scheduled c section. When the Dr opened me up, we were all surprised to see his head right where it was supposed to be. he had flipped at some point over the weekend.

They didn't mention it but I saw he was on the notes after. He flipped

They didn't mention it I just noticed in my scan notes. Ds 1 was also head down at anatomy, ds2 wasn't and he flipped (I have no idea when) and I had a medfree vaginal birth w him.

My LO was breech at the anatomy scan (18 weeks) and I know he/she hasn't moved, since I still feel the kicks consistently very low. I expected her/him to be flipping around more at this point (23 weeks), but I know there still time for him/her to turn. With you @travellingbee: in trying hard not to worry about it at this point. I'll just enjoy the fact that at this point, LO is not kicking me in the ribs.

LO was. They didn't check again till 36 weeks and she had flipped.

My first child was breech and did not flip. But I didn't really try hard to get her to.

Yes but its totally normal. Both babies were/are breach. DD flipped when it got closer to time and we are only 24 weeks in with this one.

Mine was breech and my placenta was low-lying, so they did a follow up u/s at 32 weeks. The baby had flipped and the placenta had moved. I had a quick, vagina, birth with no complications.

yep, DD is still breech as of 24 weeks. i don't know when they'll check again, but i'm trying not to worry about it!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
No but found out at a follow up scan at like 24 weeks....but the baby had flipped by 28 weeks and stayed head down until the end.

DS1 was breech and stayed breech. I had a scheduled csection with him 2 days before my due date. But he was really wedged in there with absolutely no room, plus his head was in the 100th percentile lol.
This baby was breech at the anatomy scan, too- I'm 30 weeks along and no clue what position he's in now. But I'm not too worried about it because I have a repeat csection scheduled, anyway.
Your baby definitely still has plenty of time to flip! Majority of babies will flip to head down before labor begins.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Yeah mine was def breech and then turned closer to due date.
pear / 1837 posts
This baby is breech now but I'm not too concerned at this point (24 weeks). Will for sure do what I can to get it to flip if need be.
pomegranate / 3791 posts
My doctor wouldn't even tell us that early because she said it gave no indication of what baby's final position would be!
pomelo / 5093 posts
Yeah, my doctor wouldn't even look because she said that at that point they could flip every hour.
