Has anyone tried hypnobirthing? I just started listening to the cds, but keep falling asleep! Would love to hear success stories using this method. Also, i didnt purchase the book, so would love to hear what you may have done in addition to listening to the cds to prepare.

I'd be interested in learning more about this too. I don't really want to spend money on books and taped to learn about it though, so hearing a successful, or even a semi-successful story would be enlightening.

A friend of mine did with both of her births! And she loved both of her homebirths very much!
I'm getting the tapes to listen to from my midwife tomorrow.... see how that goes!
I'm also probably going to take the Bradley classes, figure getting "too relaxed" through labor isn't really possible... so I thought having all the techniques I could get would be good. lol

Yes! Although I did hypnobabies and there are some subtle differences apparently. I also fell asleep a TON when I listened to the tracks, and I actually didn't get through all of them. BUT once I was in labor and listening to the labor track it didn't seem to matter. It helped me so much and I don't think I could have achieved my goal of an unmedicated labor without it. @ohapostrophe: I recently received my Hypnobabies self-study and I remember reading something about it being okay if you fall asleep because it's getting through to your subconscious. I can't wait to start!

I read the Mongan Method book, just to see what it was all about before I invested in CDs. It wasn't for me. I couldn't imagine myself floating on clouds of strawberry colored mist.
