I am so addicted to this show! Do you think any of the couples will choose to stay together?

Yes, I think it's fascinating and I hope it's not too staged! I have high hopes for the burlesque girl and brooklyn guy. I can't remember their names. They seem like they would be the best together. Definitely not Monet and Vaughn (?). He wants a housewife and she is way too independent for that.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I find it fascinating too. I think it is pretty genuine but the fact that they are only married for one month while cameras follow them around makes it less than realistic.
I agree Cortney and Jason are adorable and seem to really like one another. Doug and Jamie seem well paired too but Im not 100% convinced Jamie can get out of her head on that one. Vaughn and Monet are just a disaster. I love how the experts keep saying they are such a strong match and are convinced out of all of the couples they are most likely to make it. Clearly they are seeing something we dont...

Haha I'm watching last nights episode now! I don't think they're really legally married though.

I am totally addicted to this show. Got hooked one night nursing in the middle of the night.
I think Jamie and Doug are cute and I hope they decide to stay together.

ME!
A friend told me Jamie was on the bachelor before this.
@LindsayInNY: Why don't you think they are legally married? I'm really curious. I thought for sure they weren't, but then I read something not too long ago about how Monet & Vaughn had a divorce rumor going around because a court filing was found. The story said it turned out not to be a divorce filing but was a waiver so they could marry without the waiting period.

@Hoots: yes Jaime was on the Bachelor AND Bachelor Pad. And something I saw online listed her occupation as nurse and aspiring actress.... I'd say she's not in it for love...

@Hoots: When they got married, the officiant just said "I On my way! pronounce you..." I thought there was something that requires the officiant to say "By the power invested in me by the state of X..."? I could totally be making that up though. Maybe I'm just skeptical?!

@LindsayInNY: I didn't even think of that! Huh. It would be so disappointing if they weren't.
@travellingbee: That's so sad. I really liked her until I found that out. I didn't watch the season she was on or bachelor pad, so I had no idea. I feel bad for Doug because I think he's really awesome. He's had to know that during filming, right?! I understand why the new MIL isn't a fan if she knows. Also, how was Jamie so broken up about the trailer park/family visit if was on the bachelor? What did she plan to do if she made it to hometowns? So many questions!

@LindsayInNY: maybe the requirements vary by state? I know that there is not that requirement in my state or neighboring states because we had a friend marry us and looked into the laws. Just had to be ordained and have the marriage license! No law about what the bride and groom or the officiant had to say.

I am SO into this show! DH and I watch it and it is really so fascinating. Though I really think they need to give the couples at least 3-4 month to be together. 5 weeks, including a 1 week honeymoon, seems just way too short of a time frame!
We think Courtney and Jason and Jamie and Doug are still together. Found them through a hashtag on IG one day, so followed them. Seems like they're still together. Monet and Vaughn just egg each other on so much.
DH had a great idea for a reality show following any of the couples that stay together after this ends. @tillma: Right? Why the experts see something we don't?
P.S. Did you see they're already looking for people for the next season?

@shopaholic I remember in the beginning the experts were patting themselves on the back because they thought Vaughn and Monet were the strongest match they made...I think they just dont want to admit they created a hot mess
Im so excited to hear there will be another season! I thought this would be a one time thing
As a side note I am totally addicted in general to the network this show is on. I am loving a lot of their shows and it looks like they have a few fun new ones coming as well!

Saw this on the web: http://okhereisthesituation.com/2014/08/cortney-hendrix-jason-carrion-still-together/ which seems to support what @shopaholic said about them...

@lindsayinny what did you think? I am so excited for next week to see the six month check up too!
bananas / 9229 posts
@tillma: The two hours was a bit long for me. I'm over Vaughn and Monet - he's a douche. And I'm kinda getting annoyed with Jamie's "first, we'll fall in love!" as though she's still reluctant to admit she likes him? I'm definitely excited for next week though! Looks like Jason shaved his head?!
cherry / 207 posts
@lindsayinny: Jason is so cute. I loved the shaved head. Looks from the preview that Vaughn continues to be a douche. I know that the whole experiment revolves around trying to make it work but part of me is peeved that no one calls out his bad behavior. I get even more annoyed when they blame it on Monet. I thought she was incredibly patient and giving to him. Especially in light of his bad behavior. I can tell you right now I would not have remained so cool under pressure!
bananas / 9229 posts
@tillma: Agreed! Vaughn acted so young and immature and inexperienced with relationships. He did not act like he was someone who wanted to settle down. Yet, I found it interesting that they seemed to have sex all.the.time?! But to expect someone to cook for him and everything and yet compliment her for being so career-driven? Well, wtf? He lives on his own - how does he usually eat?! Don't get me wrong, my husband doesn't cook at all but he also doesn't expect it to be my job to get dinner on the table either.
bananas / 9973 posts
@LindsayInNY: Yes! Ugh, Vaugh was a douche with all his comments "we should cook, and by we, I mean YOU." "How do you feel about a menage a trois?' Ugh! I can't believe the "experts" never called him out on that ish!
@LindsayInNY: Yeah - I feel so bad for Doug that she keep pushing it in his face that she wasn't attracted to him or in love. Dude, check her IG and she seems plenty in love and has the hots for him. I think Jason shaved his head for the Fire Academy and read a comment about his mom passing away. Sad.
I've been way too invested in this show. lol
