Did anyone put their LO in a bed successfully before age 2?
DD is in a crib now but I would like to move her out of our room and into DS's room at 22 months, which is 2 months away. Trying to decide if I need to keep with the crib or look into having a bed for her.

At 1, our LO started daycare. At daycare she slept on a cot, and they never had any issues with her leaving her bed or rolling out. Then one day I caught her trying to climb out of her crib, so we put her in a toddler bed that week.
She's always been quite compliant, and we could always reason with her, so getting her to stay in bed was not really an issue.

We transitioned LO from a crib to toddler bed at 16 months. Then to a big girl bed a month after she turned 2

Yes, around 15-16 months for both LOs. They both transitioned from cribs to floor mattresses (twin and full), and then we elevated the beds with box springs/bed frames once we were confident they wouldn't roll out.
I will do the same for LO3 and get rid of the crib early. I think mine have done well with it because they never were tempted to "escape" the crib, so they don't wander out of their beds. Even if they wake up in the MOTN, they stay in bed and whine/cry for us haha. DS is now 18 months and DD is 3.

Not my own kids but I was moved to a bed at 15 months old. I had learned how to climb out of my crib so my parents didn't really have a choice.

My DD went to a regular bed (w a side rail added fm Amazon) at 20 months with no issues. Nice since you can lay next to them!

We moved F to a big girl bed at 19 months. She was climbing out of her crib, and it just became too dangerous.

Yes! We transitioned her at 22/24 months, before the new baby arrived. It went really well- I know several bloggers have written posts as well about pre-2 transitions

We transitioned to a bed at 21 months. No problems really. A couple times he kind of slid out, but the bed's really low. I had to just put him back in bed. For the most part it's been great, and he doesn't even get out of bed until I come in.

around 16 months for us, she was a crib escape artist, and it was too dangerous to leave her in it. We started with just removing the front and then about a month later got her a twin better with a safety side. Wish we would have done a full right off the bat but oh well.

I am so surprised by all these cooperative kids
We tried to transition right before two- She wasn't climbing out of the crib but was screaming every night until Dh or I came in and laid down with her in the bed in her room until she fell asleep. So we started just letting her sleep in the bed. After over a week of nightly battles to get her to stay in bed we have up and put her back in the crib. Not sure when we will try again since she's not fighting it anymore at 26 months. New baby will be here in December but she will be in our room for a while anyway.
