April Showers; it's raining BFP's! April POAS thread

    @snowjewelz: Congrats to you!!!

So, I finally got my crosshairs on Saturday. YAY! DH and I weren't exactly "trying" this month (we only DTD 0 -2 and +2) so I won't be surprised if we don't get KU this month, but I'm super happy to at least know I'm somewhat regular again. Especially since I had the strange spotting before O this month.

@MaryM: I think you still have a chance here! I def understand the relief we have when our bodies decide to be normal for once haha! Here's to TWW... Fx for you!!

Well my temps have stayed above the crosshairs FF gave me, so ATM I'm going with it; O'd on CD14 and am now on 5DPO. Not happy as we only got one BD session in, but at least it was the day before. I'm not gonna change my POAS date, just wait and see how this TWW goes.
Good luck to the POAS'ers coming up!!

AF is due tomorrow. I was going to POAS tomorrow but changed it to Friday as I don't want to waste any tests as I'm sure it will be negative. I feel 'great' physically. Not tired in the least and usually I'm soooo tired all the time so that can't be a good sign! I'm scared for the next couple of days. I don't want to think about the next cycle.

    @snowjewelz: OMG, congratulations!!!!!!!

@LIL BEAN: Sorry to hear AF arrived.

Girls, talk me out of being so hopeful... using OPKs this month and DTD everyday for three days after a positive has totally gotten my hopes up! I keep thinking that this is it and we did everything right, but I KNOW I still only have a 25% chance of getting pregnant AND my cycle is still regulating post-baby, so my chances are probably even less! But I still can't kick that feeling that this cycle will work! I know I'm just setting myself up for some serious disappointment in a couple weeks!

@Adira: Will you kill me if I help your hopes instead? The month I was pregnant with this one, I was SO sure I was KU, starting around 2dpo, and I was right! The month before I didn't feel hopeful at all, and again, definitely right.

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@Adira: It doesn't hurt to be optimistic! You will probably feel the same amount of disappointment either way.

  11. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@whenoceansrise: Oo have fun w/ the OPKs! It's stressful but there is an excitment in waiting for that super dark line to appear and then jumping on your DH that day

@Mrs.Lilac: Don't be scared! Feeling great doesn't mean automatic BFN! I felt pretty great till the day AF was due! Fx for you

@Adira: I'm not gonna talk you out lol b/c you have such good chances this month!! Sometimes your gut is right! Fx for you

@Adira: You can definitely still be hopeful, but have to couple that hope with the stuff you said after the "I KNOW" part of your post. Hope is not a bad thing!! You just can't let it keep you from losing perspective.

Take that hope and focus on using it for good - i.e. snuggling with Xander in case you are about to be pregnant and potentially not feeling so hot and enjoying your family of three!

@MaryM: I have read that 0-2 is the best day to conceive!

  14. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@winniebee: I told DH nothing would happen this month unless I have super eggs or he has super sperm.

But I can't say I'd be too upset if it did happen this month.

I'm really wanting a girl, and I've heard that DTD a few days before O increases chances for females (because the male sperm die more quickly) so...

But I'm working really hard not to get any hopes up. I've done some symptom spotting, but there are alternate reasons to explain all the symptoms I've had (gassy - I ate mexican food. ginormous zit - I *did* just ovulate so my hormones are crazy anyway. Major congestion - I get that when the weather changes).

  15. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@winniebee: O-2 was the only day we didn't BD and I got a BFP!

I def read a lot of encouraging stories on HB of people BD'ing just once, or on o-4 and still got BFPs!

I thought I ovulated yesterday but it's actually today (heavy cramps and super positive opk) and so we only bd 0-2 and 0-4. Maybe tonight but not counting on it because of my husbands work schedule. Not too hopeful.

  19. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@Adira: there's nothing else you could have done so being positive is only logical

@winniebee: Didn't you just tell me that O-2 is a great day to conceive?

  21. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@MaryM: I did. Hahhahaha I know. I just feel like we could have done it yesterday but I was tired.

  22. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@winniebee: I've heard so many good things about O-2, so I'm really rooting for you!!!

ETA: Wait - did you get the positive OPK today?? Couldn't that mean you might not ovulate until tomorrow? You should try to BD today if you can!

  23. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@Adira: I got 2 high readings on CD 16 and 17 and a peak reading on CD 18 and a very positive OPK on 19 (today) as well (I used the same digital tests but pulled out the test stick and for the first time the line was as dark as the control). Strange b/c pre-baby #1, I had a very short LH surge. I can usually tell when ovulation happens though because I get very bloated and have worse than period like cramps (which is today). Regardless, I'll be getting my period 13 days from today (unless pregnant). My husband is ridiculously stressed with work and working late a lot lately so I'm not even sure if tonight is an option.

  24. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@winniebee: Oh, I gotcha! Well, either way, O-2 is good timing! Hopefully you guys are able to make tonight happen, but if not, you're still in the running!! Fingers crossed for you!

Hey all, I'm coming up quickly to my test date. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it's so hard! I have been cramping for a few days, but only when I have to pee. I also have sore breasts and acne like crazy! These could all be PMS, but I'm having trouble not getting excited.

Your game plan this month // We had perfect timing last month, and that didn't work, so I guess we will continue doing what we did, I am also temping (more just to keep myself busy as I already know when I ovulate), and I am thinking of getting Preseed, I have good CM, but I figure it can't hurt, right?

I have a question for your ladies: AM or PM bd'ing? Which is more likely to catch the egg? We have only done it in the AM, so I'm thinking maybe we should switch things up?

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@KelLeeLeee: I think I've actually heard that AM is better? But I'm not sure how much it really matters. Hubs and I usually only do PM because that's all we have time for!

@Adira: FX for you my dear! I feel good about April too!

    @winniebee: I hope o-2 does the trick.

I'm feeling surprisingly good again after a very hard week last week. We were all sick, my son was teething and night weaning. I ended up giving him several extra feeds here and there just to get through. I stuck pretty well to the night schedule though. Hoping those few times wasn't enough to frail my hormones fr progress. I also added my yoga, daily green tea and soups. Hoping acupuncture will help me ovulate on cd16 like I used to. Today is CD12 and I have a session on cd14. I also hope we can get some good BD in! Today I have creamy mixed with EW CM. and a negative opk with only a squinty line. Praying it all works out for us!

@snowjewelz: aw thanks, I'm having such a hard time waiting two more days, but AF is way better to see than a BFN.

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@MrsHansen82: I'm the same way. I always schedule my POAS date for a few days after when AF is supposed to arrive because I'd rather just see AF than that stark white test!

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@MrsMccarthy: Ooo fertility yoga! Did you do that last time around or this is a new routine for you?

@MrsHansen82: I totally agree! Well, I tested 10DPO but I wouldn't test any earlier. And honestly the line I had was faint so it was just more confusion than anything! Hoping to see good news from you real soon
