Do you consider easter egg hunts to be related to Christianity? If you do, do you actively incorporate religion into the hunt? Or is it a secular activity that mostly Christians do (a la Christmas trees, stockings, etc) that's somehow in celebration of the religious aspects of the holiday?

I know this sounds like a stupid series of questions, but we are hosting family on Easter - not because it's Easter but because it's the only day that works for everyone. I figured we could do an egg hunt but then my SIL said they (SIL, brother, my niece) would not participate (they are Orthodox Jews). SIL said they didn't want their daughter to "participate in a holiday that was about Christ's resurrection." She did note that her daughter would love to eat the chocolate afterwards though...? Dh and his family are Hindu, I'm not religious but was raised Christian, the rest of my family are Christians.

Just curious what the hive thinks

If any Jewish bees want to chime in to explain their point of view I'd appreciate it as well! My brother and SIL participated in our Hindu marriage ceremony so I'm a little confused about what religious acts/traditions are ok and which aren't.
