For those of you that had babies close to Easter, did you make LO a basket their first year? If so what did you put in there? DD is due March 27 so she'll be just 3-4 weeks old. I want to do something for her, just not sure what. Maybe some cute clothes and a lovey (and chocolate for mom 
).

Our LO is due the day after Easter and I keep seeing all these cute Easter onesies (Target has these adorable little hats for newborns with bunny ears) etc. but I'm holding back because he may not be here!

I'm planning on a couple books...maybe bunny/easter themed. And maybe a first Easter onesie or something? The plush rattles sound like a good idea too! I definitely plan on doing something! I think books are awesome because they will use them for a long time

R was three weeks last year. I just bought a cheap basket from Target. I put a little squeaky book, rattle, and a stuffed bunny in it.

Sadie was a month and a half for her first Easter. She had no idea what was going on, but I had fun with her basket. It had a couple toys, a bath book, new bottles, bubbles, sunscreen & shades for the summer, and some new paci's. I also put some new headbands and bows in plastic eggs.

Target also has Easter pacis and bath toys. I got this rattle in yellow, a book, and made the dyed wooden eggs that someone blogged about last Easter. (http://www.hellobee.com/2013/03/15/diy-wooden-toy-eggs/)

DD was born 3/27!!!
She got her first Easter Basket last year (2 years old).
DS will get his first this year (16 months old). -
LO will be 7.5 months old at Easter, but I probably won't get her anything this year. That being said, I'm sure she'll get an Easter basket from MIL and my mom. Next year I'd love to make her the dyed wooden eggs.

I'm due 10 days before Easter, so I don't know if LO will be here yet. But we're still getting him/her an Easter basket. I think we'll get a book and a Jellycat bunny as a combined Easter/birthday present. And if baby is here, we'll supplement when we know boy or girl. Otherwise, it will just be a few days belated

Can someone explain the easter basket to me? Is it like a Christmas stocking?
I thought kids just hunt for chocolate eggs and stick them in their baskets?!

@sunny: Yep, pretty similar to a stocking. The Easter Bunny leaves children little baskets filled with goodies (candy & small toys usually) the night before Easter. This is in addition to Easter egg hunts.
My LO is 4 months old & she will get an Easter basket. She already has a few bunny stuffed animals & loveys - is it really cheap of me to put them in her basket, haha? Just to fill it out for the photo opp
I will probably get her bunny/spring themed books & an Easter rattle type toy.
