I'd love to do a meetup this summer, maybe a picnic at Prospect Park.
I know there are several of you..... any Brooklyn bees in the house?

My brother lives in Queens but I would love to join the picnic if I'm in town during the time! Planning a trip back late August/early September!

@meredithNYC: Yep! I'm in Brooklyn and am a few blocks from Prospect Park (we live near the lake).

Yes! Would love to...we had an NYC meetup thread going a few weeks ago but it kind of petered out...

I like to visit Brooklyn, my sister lives there. We don't have plans to come up this summer though.... maybe in the winter because dhs cousin is becoming a bat mitzvah then.

It's still chilly, but once it gets a little warmer, let's have a picnic in Prospect Park!

@Mrs. Bee: It has suddenly gotten so nice out these last few days, but it looks a bit iffy next week. Looking forward to the picnic meet up! That's a great idea and kid-friendly.

@Andrea: yah i don't think it's warm enough yet for a picnic. perhaps in may..... it has to at least be in the 70's!

@Mrs. Bee: I agree - for the kids! It's totally warm enough for me, though. I am so excited to be outside all the time again.

@Mrs. Bee: I've been waiting (and WAITING!) for it to warm up. I have this vision of a Saturday in Prospect Park with a bottle of wine, baguette and goat cheese from the farmers market, and my LO sleeping peacefully in his stroller. Of course, it will probably end up more like scarfing down some bread to get home for a nap with an overtired baby and possibly a blowout...but a girl can dream!

@hummusgirl: ha this was totally my dream of this summer as well. The best laid plans...

I'm a Brooklyn bee! We live in Williamsburg and I'm due in about a week (!!!) with our first.

@hilsy85: We did it! Today we went and did the whole thing - bread, wine, cheese, park, everything!! It was fabulous. The only (not at all surprising) issue was that LO wouldn't sleep in his stroller so he got tired and a little fussy toward the end. But, worth it! We still got a lot of good time (and sun) in. Highly recommend it!

@hummusgirl: Sounds awesome! I think we may do this tomorrow since it's supposed to be warmer. Picnic by the lake!

I looove the lake. It's so relaxing! It's a little far from where we are so we don't get down there often but when we do it's like a mini-vacation (I'm easy to please).

@apis: and I are in Manhattan but most of our friends are in Brooklyn, does that count? We'd love to cross the river and join you guys if you have a meetup!

@hummusgirl: we were actually there today too! Tried to go to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, but it was a madhouse there--all these people dressed up in crazy costumes! So we went to the park instead. Maybe we crossed paths unknowingly!

It's summer! I thought I'd try to revive this thread. I'm not sure I'd make it to a meet up (I'm pretty antisocial ) but maybe others want to get together.
