I try to avoid buying candy for gas stations and stores that look like they dont get much customers because the candy usually looks old and doesnt taste right. The other day I bought a crunch chocolate bar from the farmers market and when I opened it, it was all white and stale looking. it didnt even look like chocolate. gross

I don't buy anything edible from Dollar Stores. I figure their sourcing is questionable.

I pretty much never go into gas stations to buy stuff--maybe on a road trip, but even then I pack most of my snacks. If I were buying candy, it would probably come from Target or the vending machine at work and both of those tend to have high turnover.

If I'm buying candy, it's usually Twizzler licorice Nibs. I squeeze them to see if they're still squishy. If so, I buy 'em!
