Things that I had this go round that I didn't have with DS:

1. The rock n play sleeper. I loved that it was so mobile and we could easily carry DD from room to room and she was cozy enough to stay asleep until we transitioned her to the pak n play.

2. Baby K'Tan. I carried DS in his carrier EVERYWHERE which was a PAIN. This time it was so nice to put DD in the wrap and go shop or do whatever else I needed to.

Things for the next lo we didn't get this time:

1. Noise Machine! DS was a laid back baby so he slept great anywhere anytime in any position.... NOT DD. I actually downloaded a white noise app onto my phone and during the day if I just haven't been able to get her to sleep I'll leave my phone in the room with it on.

A different nursing pillow- maybe the Brest Friend; I had the Boppy but it was really not great in the beginning.

Maybe a swing- LO1 was an only child so I could just swing him in my arms (and did many times) but now with a toddler I might need some help from "gear".

I would get the infant insert for the ergo. I didn't mind using the moby, but I think the ergo + insert would have been much more convenient, and DH would have worn Sawyer more as well. Otherwise nothing I can thing of!

@Baby Boy Mom: the Brest Friend is not as good as everyone says. I find it a bit of a pain to maneuver when I have a screaming baby on my shoulder and putting it into place. I prefer the jolly jumper boomerang pillow. It is awesome!

@Belleoftheballe, @Mrs. Yoyo : Thank you! I will look into both! Now that LO2 is on the way I guess I need to start researching again.

@skibobrown: is there any way you could buy one used? I also bought one late (maybe when lo was 10ish weeks), but i got it used for a great price and it was in great condition. I have to say it has been so helpful, i can now have coffee and breakfast in the mornings and wash dishes, etc. i plan on selling it for hopefully what i bought it for once my lo outgrows it.

We are probably done with one, but if we were to have a second, the only thing I'd buy is a real cosleeper. That's it.

I might get an Ergo. We also got rid of our bouncer and play mat so I will need to replace those. Otherwise, I think I've learned that you don't really need too much.

@Coco Bee: @runsyellowlites: you guys read my frickin mind. I spent all last night researching how to get the baby k'tan and bjorn babysitter on the cheap. I also ordered the rock n play! It'll be here tomorrow!!

Not many I don't think.... I would like a teething necklace though.

I actually have less for LO #2 but still have more "helpful" things instead of closet stuffers. This time around I have a good wrap and good carrier instead of a cheapy one, Swaddle wraps, noise machine, good breast pump, and blooming bath. I think that is it. I may invest in a nursing necklace as well.

@Coco Bee: I agree, a swing is totally a necessary item.

We hadn't heard of the RocknPlay but I Think I may see if I could find one to try for #2.

I love my Ergo, so happy we have that!!! I now know why its so hard to find them used, I would never give it up!

A bouncy seat was the only gear we didn't have. I am still hoping that I can find an ergo for cheap (or that I win one today on their last day for August giveaway!). If I don't find one, then I would love a soft carrier like the moby that is a little easier to get on!

@banana: I have the Ergo and the Beco Butterfly, and I prefer the Beco. I have way too many carriers, but I like to switch them up a bit. I haven't pulled out the Ergo at all since I got the Beco. The Beco just fits my body type much better than the Ergo... and it feels more secure. I suggest borrowing an Ergo just to test it before spending money on one.

I'm feeling good now that we have a lot of the items people are wish listing! woohoo!

@banana: I have the black with white polka dots. The lint isn't too bad, but I'm having to clean it constantly because she spits up every time I put her in it! White, chalky, dried spit up. But it's a sure-fire way to work out some gas

@sorrycharlie: I'm constantly lint brushing it! I have the black with gray flowers on it. it's super cute but a major lint magnet!

@cvbee: I want the kind that I wear that my LO can chew on. She's 13 months old now and only has 3 teeth so I actually think it would still work for her.... maybe I should still get it!
