Are you more of a "big picture" person or a "details" person? What about your SO?
I'm more of a details person and my DH is definitely a big picture kind of guy. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees and my DH has to pull me out! I think we're a good team that way since he'd miss a ton of details since he doesn't like to worry about details.

I'm a detail person, but it doesn't come naturally. DH is a big-picture person to the extent that he never thinks about details (or he used to be anyway, his current job is slowly changing that), so I figure one of us had to be responsible for the little stuff.

My husband would say I'm a big picture person, and that he's a detail person.....but I think we're are both, in different situations. I am a big picture person, but I notice and care about the details *when I feel like the details are important*. When I feel like the details aren't important, it doesn't bother me at all to do a bad job, or to spend less time.
At work, I'm generally a big picture person (because I feel like I would never get anything done if I focused too much on the details). But for my wedding and prenatal planning stuff--I'm allll about the details.
I think my hubs is the same way---he can not worry aboutt he details if he thinks they are unimportant, but if he feels they ARE important, he's extremely tenacious and detail oriented.

We are both details people. Because we are similar in this way we understand each other well. We just both have to make a conscious effort not to get overly caught up in the details & pause to look at the big picture from time to time.

I'm so so so so so far away from being a details person. I'm the total opposite. I'm a dreamer, big picture, forget the details kind of person!
My DH is also a big picture person but is much more detail oriented than I am. He's a good mix of both.

I'm big picture, and DH is detailed! However, my line of work has forced me to be more detailed so I've come a long long way. One of my old bosses used to always point out all the tiny details I missed, and I worked hard to overcome that.

I'm definitely a detailed person and my SO is big picture. I guess we compliment each other. But we also fight about it at times. He doesn't understand why the details are so important. And I get mad at him for not looking at the details!

We joke that he's the COO, overseeing the day-to-day whereas I'm the CEO, in charge of future planning and strategic direction. It works!

@SweetMamaM: We use the same terms! I'm the COO though and he's the CEO. I'm also the CFO.... though he is in charge of the treasury

I'm big picture. To the extent where if someone tells me a story and it has to include the names of the people and how they spread their jam on their toast (my coworker - huge details person- does this), it drives me crazy and I stop listening. Hubs is detail, but he's much more middle of the road, so he can see the big picture too.

Big picture. Details annoy me. Example: vacation planning. I know people who plan, down to the minute, what they will do on vacations, where they will eat, etc. Me, on the other hand? Vacation planning is basically just buying a ticket and, if needed, making a hotel reservation in advance. But I've gone on plenty of trips where I just show up in a place and figure it out from there.
DH is the same, maybe even worse!

I definitely lean towards being a little details person. While I'm disciplined with money and work hard now because I am looking at the "big picture" of our future, I much more often get hung up on the "little details" of the moment. For instance, I'm TTC now and experiencing some issues with that, and while I am sure in 5-10 years when I have all my kids, all this stress I feel now about being TTC will seem so silly. Right now though I just can't let it go.
My DH is very good at seeing the big picture.

I'm a details for sure....list making is my speciality. My DH is a big picture, so at time this is a blessing that we have both sides covered and sometimes this causes us to butt heads on what is most important!
