Ugh I'm always late. I try so hard to be on time, but getting anywhere with my 2.5 year old and 8 month old is always more time-consuming than I think it will be. By myself I'm usually within 5-10 mins. It's a thing I've always struggled with.

If I'm with my husband I'm on time (he's always early). If I'm by myself I'm probably 5-10 minutes late for everything

I'm usually 5-10 minutes late. Unless I'm with DH - then we're 20 minutes early to EVERYTHING.

I'm usually early! With LO's I give myself an hour or so extra to get ready. Like for church on Sunday, DH always works so I don't have help. We have to get up at 7, eat breakfast, get all three and myself ready and nurse/change DD2, take DD1 to the bathroom just to leave at 9:40, to get to church at 10.

On the week days, DS starts school at 8:15, which means we need to be up no later than 6:30 every day...and we still rush but he's never late!

I'm never late. Never. I think that is so rude. Having kids is not an excuse to be late, it's a total cop-out! Your car breaking down or there being traffic due to a wreck, etc. those are the the only excuses I'll accept I have a cousin who is always almost an hour late for every family function and it makes me so ragey.

Not always, but often. I know it's awful, it's my biggest "pet peeve" about myself, and it's something I'm really working on - but it's always been a problem for me, even as a little kid. Most of my family is like this too. DH and his family, on the other hand, are alwayyyyys early. That actually bothers me when they're coming over to our house, because they show up before we're really ready for them. So it can come across as a little disrespectful both ways. But yeah, it's a problem

My family, however, is known to be late. For those of us who like people to be on time, we add a few hours to the meet time. It usually works.

Constantly, constantly, constantly late. No matter how hard I try, how early I wake up, how much I put things together beforehand, I am always, always late. It is even worse now that I have a little one.

Isn't it funny how the late ones are sometimes ones who don't have kids (yet)? My sister is the same way! The morning of our flight back to Asia my sister was suppose to come by 7 A.M. but she ran late and didn't get to our apartment until 7:30 A.M. And I was the one who had to get ready, finish packing, and get two toddlers up by 6:45 A.M. all by myself to catch an early morning flight back to Asia? And sometimes my husband makes us late b/c he distracts me with questions while I get all the boy's stuff (clothes, snacks, and water bottles) ready.

Very rarely and if I am I call as soon as I realize I'm going to be late and apologize. Chronically late people annoy the shit out of me. It's just rude. Even if they apologize when they show up, if it's a frequent issue all I hear is "Sorry but my time is way more important than yours so I don't really care about making you wait around for me"

Some people on here saying it's super rude, sound a little judgemental. It's not something that everyone does on purpose. I could give myself 5 hours to get ready, and still often arrive 5-10 mins late, and I've been that way my entire life, despite my very best efforts. I try very hard, and I hate it too. (Someone who is regularly an hour late is a different story.) This article has good explanations, and helpful tips:

ETA: Also, sometimes the kids excuse is a cop out, sometimes, it really is the truth. The ages of kids, how many there are, special needs they may have, etc., can all play a role.

It depends. I hate being late, but over the years, I've learned that sometimes it doesn't matter or is good to be late. For example, if I am early to a doctor appointment, I always have to wait the same amount of time, if not more, than if I was late, so I don't rush to get there on time. I also like being a little late to parties because I don't like being the first one there.
