My brother and BILs don't have kids yet so things aren't competitive yet. I can totally see DH and his bro becoming competitive later..probably about our children's academic accomplishments or athletic ability. Ugh!

My two nephews are 6 months apart, so I could see how it could come up. Right now no one gets competitive, which is good because the younger one is behind on his milestones. You can't help but compare them, since they are so close in age, though. Makes me sort of glad that my LO will be in between, not the exact same age as any cousins.

We live really far away from DH's siblings and there are so many cousins spread across different ages that my kids barely even register as a blip on the radar. However, we live very close to my family and I have a feeling there will be some comparison once my bro has kids. At least for grandparents' attention if not everything else.
