We haven't gotten that far. I usually wear a little something festive or have a simple costume. Once I was a pumpkin, another year superwoman.
Are you dressing up for Halloween?

OH dresses up in his kilt to hand out candy so I will probably finally dress up too this year. Probably a construction worker because I have easy access to hard hats and high viz vests.

I usually try to do something - last year I tossed on my craziest printed work out pants, a bright tshirt, a pink tutu, and some fairy/butterfly wings. I'm not 100% sure what I was, but my DD's approved. DH has a full lion suit from some silly party, so he usually wears that - the kids also love it.

I want to! Just haven't figured out any of our costumes yet! Last year DD was a cup of starbucks coffee and I was a barista!

Yes. I'm going to be Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus.

Our kids are going as characters from Stranger Things so DH really wants us to dress up as the mom and the police chief. It should be easy enough for us to pull together.

@lawbee11: that's awesome! I want to see a picture
My daughter really really wants me to dress up. :
She's going to be Dorothy and my son will be a lion. She wants me to be Glenda, so maybe!

I am a sucker for the family costume so we are going as Ghostbusters this year, DH and I are going to be slimer and the stay puffed marshmallow man! Last year we did superheroes! If anyone is thinking of doing this - maybe don't do liquid eyeliner all over your face - my pores were a mess for weeks LOL

Yes! I usually don't but it's DD1s first year ToTing and really getting it, so we are all dressing up. She said she wanted to be a purple dinosaur, so we will make her Dino and do the Flinstones.

No, I have grad school at 7:20 and need to leave home around 6:15 to get there.

Nope! I think the last time I dressed up was like a year after I graduated college...

I haven't in a really long time, but this year I think I am going to do something simple. I am going to try to be a day of the dead skeleton, using a ball skirt, a tee shirt and a pair of long skeleton gloves. Then I'll do the face makeup and put on a crown of flowers.

@looch: I love those skeletons! Have you looked up any somewhat easy makeup tutorials yet?
Edited to add:
This is the tutorial I was looking at for mine. Not exactly sugar skeleton, though. http://pin.it/3u13wsK

@Mrs. Pen: I ordered a 2 pack of the face tatoos from amazon plus a container of clown white to test out. I think I could manage doing it myself with pencils and some powder, but the reviews seem to be pretty good for these things if you cut the masks into smaller pieces to apply and then fill in with shadow or pencil.

Yes! This is our first year that all of us will get to trick or treat together so we are going as Tangled. Dd1 rapunzel, dd2 pascal, DH Flynn rider and I'm going to be mother gothel.

I don't usually. But I'm the room mom at the toddlers coop the day of their Halloween celebration so I bought an extra pair of cat ears and figure I can wear black and some eye liner nose and whiskers. Dd1 is being a black kitty cat so we can match.

@lawbee11: my favorite cartoon character of all time!!
We are doing x-men this year as a family. I am going as Jean Grey when she is the dark phoenix.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Maybe! I just got a mask from rite aid and hoping to find leggings to match.
I likely won't be matching my girls...maybe a evilstep mother? Lol

Yes, but only because we were invited to a Halloween party. Traditionally I am not a fan of dressing up. But in the spirit of the party I'm going to.....DH and I are going to be Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper.

I hate Halloween, but since I'm a teacher I'm forced to each year. Not sure if we'll do a family costume this year.

I'm a literacy teacher so I will probably go as a book fairy to school

I am not sure what to dress up as this year. I'll actually be noticeably pregnant on Halloween for the first time.

I'm being Merida this year. I live in a house of boys, so I'm doing what I want= Disney Princess. Also there was a LLR Nicole dress I desperately wanted, so this is how I justified it I have no idea what anyone else is going to be... I was thinking of making E a baby bear to go with me, but he would also look awesome in the Mad Hatter or Oompa Loompa costume... Cam briefly mentioned dinosaur, but I haven't heard an update on that one yet
@lawbee11: I LOVE this idea! I'm definitely going to have to do this when I teach on Halloween again!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Yup because we've been doing family costumes since DS was born. We probably will stop when the kids are old enough to tell us to stop dressing as a family. Until then, I'm enjoying this (considering I quit dressing up before I was a teen!!

I was planning on hibernating - since Halloween is 3 days before my DD... but then our annual Murder Mystery party which is 2 weeks prior to Halloween is Halloween themed! So I had to come up with a costume. I'm going as Winnie the Pooh. Comfy and taking advantage of my big belly

Probably not this year, but last year I was a pirate.
@Mrs. Pen: You can totally DIY that top, I know someone who did the same!
