LO has the dolls pictured below. One stays at childcare and the other is at home. I got them from the Pattycake Doll Company (which also has Asian, Hispanic, and special needs dolls). She loves them!

She also has the Snowy Day doll and a white baby doll.

ETA: I think it's important for all babies to be exposed early to different races & culture...but also as someone in the minority, it's important for me that my daughter sees herself reflected and has a good feeling about who she is. That study where the black kids choose the white dolls as being "better" and "prettier" always breaks my heart.

I would love a variety of dolls for LO. I had a black baby doll when I was a kid.

I would love a variety! Definitely not based on our color alone. As a kid I had the Josefina AG doll and never thought twice about it I also had white dolls. But no Asian dolls. I did have African American babies though!

They are becoming more commonplace with some brands like AG and groovy girls.

I would buy an Asian baby doll if I liked how it looked! Haven't really looked around recently. If I couldn't find one I liked, I'd probably just buy a dark-haired, dark-eyes baby doll.

I only had white dolls growing up, but was so jealous of friends that had black and asian dolls. My LO will have dolls in a variety of all races to reflect all the people in her life

My kids are half asian, half white. They have some asianish looking dolls from ikea, and a black babydoll I had as a kid. We'll try to keep some diversity in their toys.

DD has a doll with black hair, but the features don't look particularly Asian. She also has an "Asian family" dollhouse set, I think it's by plan toys. They are actually kind of silly looking to me :-). We are asian.
Eta: here is a pic of the daughter from the plan toys Asian dollhouse family that DD received as a gift. I laughed when we got it, its so terrible.

I am constantly on the lookout for an Asian doll but the ones I've seen are stereotypical. When I was last in an American Doll store, the one Asian-looking doll was wearing a red silk Chinese dress and I literally scoffed out loud. I mean, come on!

Yes! I am hispanic and my husband is caucasian, and I definitely want to buy ethnic dolls for our daughter! I thought this one was cute - have bookmarked it for a while. I should just buy it.

yep, we are white but I plan on buying the baby some ethnic babydolls.

I plan on having a variety to help encourage our children to see every ethnicity as beautiful and "normal".

@SugarplumsMom: I ended up ordering 3, all different. One for L, one for Sis and one for their cousin. They'll have matching dresses, but look different at least!
I ordered the dark brown skin, black hair with light skin, and brown hair with light skin. The last two were $6.99 but the first was $9.99 - weird that the prices were different?!

If she's interested in one, sure thing! I'm not sure kids really notice that kind of thing though?? I vividly remember picking dolls/Barbies based on their outfits, not what color they were.

I hope that doesn't come off as negative, or discounting other's responses ... I'm just saying that I think finding beauty in cultural differences goes beyond introducing a child to different dolls.
