Yes!! My mom, MIL, SIL and BIL are all coming over to watch! We are all dressing up in our Canada Olympic gear! I love the Olympics!

I'm planning to! I have it set up to DVR in case, but I'd rather watch it "live."

Absolutely! I'm making beef stroganoff and baking brownies to celebrate! I used to go to the Olympics for my old job and I was in Vancouver 4 years ago. It's fun to finally be able to watch/experience the Olympics with hubs.

I watched it live this morning as I couldn't find it being rebroadcast later on any of the channels here. Normally I love the OC but I wasn't super impressed this time. Now to be fair, it was on at 1:20 am and my night owl newborn hadn't let me get more than a 20 minute stretch of sleep before it started, so I wasn't really in my most attentive frame of mind. I'll be curious to see what everyone else thinks!

I'm watching but I hate NBC's coverage in the US. It's not live so there's no reason to drag it out so much! Just show it already!

Yes, the second half- my bff has a grand opening tonight, so I can't miss that, but then it's pajama and Olympic time!

Any chance I can find the opening ceremony available online? I don't have cable and use my FIL's login info to watch highlights and videos. I don't think NBC is making the opening ceremony available online though.

Nope. We're not watching any of the coverage this time around because of the Russian anti-gay laws and the appalling treatment of gay people in Russia.
Fundamental Principle Six of the Olympic Charter explicitly prohibits "Any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise."An Olympic host country should reflect this principle of non-discrimination. In my opinion, the IOC failed to honor its own charter and principles when it selected Russia to host.
We talked and talked about it and it was ultimately DH who couldn't reconcile watching the coverage with our beliefs. It's a shame, really, because he loves winter sports.....
