I have a Google Chrome extension that pulls it up automatically whenever I load an applicable website. It pops up a bar at the top of the page that gives me an option to activate cash back.

@FutureMrsMcK: yay!! was hoping someone would be able to clue me in!!

@Andrea: @banana: I was SO BAD at remembering before I installed the extension.

I only started using ebates earlier this year and am pretty adamant about using it. I love seeing the cash back value increase! I even get DH to check before he makes any purchases.

Yup! I always try to do cashback whether it is ebates or Fatwallet or something else!

Yes! I just got an email saying they sent out my $146 check... Cha-Ching!

@artbee: @autumnlove: do you shop online? what are you waiting for!!
I've gotten $1100 back since 2007.... I am pretty good about remembering! Just habit I guess, I used to have a sticky note on my screen.

I just barely signed up for it and so far have already forgotten to use it once. but we also take advantage of discover card cash back which is usually higher than ebates. I don't think I can do the shop discover abd ebates at the same time tho?

@mrskc: you can't. I always do a compare with the two sites and shopdiscover almost always has higher rates. However, sometimes ebates has special promos like their birthday event where so many awesome stores were 14% cash back! And when you use giftcards through ebates, the amount you would've spent in lieu of the giftcard still counts towards cashback, whereas with discover that wouldn't count since only what you spend using your discover card would count.

@Andrea: It helps me remember too by "liking" them on fb! So I always see them pop up on my feed advertising special cashback rates.

@mrskc: @Mrs. High Heels: we use discover too - so you get the cashback bonus of course, but you can't do ebates & shopdiscover. With that being said I have had extremely negative experiences with ShopDiscover the two times I used it and completely favor Ebates.

@autumnlove: on certain categories that seem to rotate. http://www.ebates.com/amazon.htm

@scg00387: what happened with shopdiscover? i've never had a bad experience with them.
honeydew / 7687 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: the two purchases I made through there they claimed didn't count? Gave me some run around about how I must have done it incorrectly or returned the purchase. It took several emails and a few months of me following up and they finally credited the cash back from both purchases but it was so obnoxious compared to Ebates where they've always emailed me back within 24 hours and immediately credited if there was an issue.

@Mrs. High Heels: ah ok got it. I just started using ebates, so I'll be on the look out for extra deals. I get the emails, but usually don't really pay attention to them. I don't usually have gift cards to spend, so that's not a big deal to me.
@scg00387: what issue did you have w/ shopdiscover? So far we've had no problems with it. ETA: Just saw your response above! I'm surprised b/c I though discover had good customer service.

@scg00387: that's terrible. i've always known discover to have good service. i better pay better attention to my purchases just in case!

@mrskc
@Mrs. High Heels: we've had great customer service from them on all other fronts - and I guess in the grand scheme of things they did credit me the $. it was just a huge hassle. FWIW Ebates misses their fair share of purchases too, I set a bi-monthly reminder to go through and double check all my tracking tickets against cash back (since I only click once I'm certain I'm going to purchase).

@scg00387: It's pretty rare for me to shop online. I hate paying for shipping if I can just drive and get it myself. Plus I usually like to see what I'm getting, touch it, etc.

@FutureMrsMcK: That's great to know! I'm gonna get that right now!

Yup. I always do. Although these days I'm doing swag bucks more bc the rate of return seems to be better.
