Nope, and I'm struggling to balance and find the time to work on it.

No. I would like to lose about 20 pounds, but it's not easy for me to lose weight. I would need to cut down on calories and give up the pizza, cheeseburgers and other foods I often eat out of convenience.

Yes and no.
I actually just a few months ago had a big realization when it came to my weight. I found an online weightloss community and started tracking my calories and I'm down 30lbs since June. I had always let this idea that exercise is necessary for weight loss to trip me up. It absolutely is not necessary for weight loss. It's an essential part of a healthy life, but losing weight is all about what you're eating. I learned the saying "you can't outrun your fork". Because I have back problems I would let my chronic pain be an excuse for my weight.
I'm at my first goal weight but I'm still about 15lbs from a healthy BMI. I'm not really dieting (just counting calories), I've got more energy than I've ever had, my chronic pain is a lot less, I'm tons happier, and (most importantly!) I'm eating tons more dessert than I ever have before.
So I'm not really happy but I'm on the right path.

I go back and forth, but I am also not doing anything about it either. I need something to really motivate me...maybe I should plan another wedding?

I don't care about a number concerning weight, but I'm definitely not happy with how I feel or look in photos. I have had 2 miscarriages the past year, and with comfort eating, lots of wine and inactivity, I've definitely gotten bigger. I am trying to eat better and started going to the gym 3 times a week again because I just want to feel better and my clothes not feel so tight.

Yes, I'm really happy with my weight. I actually weigh a pound or so less than I did before having my daughter. It took me a few months longer than I expected to lose the last 5-10 pounds of baby weight but it eventually came off when I focused on clean eating for about 4 weeks. Then I went back to eating ice cream!

Nope. I am having trouble being ok with gaining weight this pregnancy. I know it's ok but I have struggled for years with body image and weight issues. So this is really hard. I made it known with my doctors recently that I don't want to know my weight (number) I just want to know that my weight gain is on target for a safe pregancy. Otherwise I will obsess about my weight.

Definitely NO. This past year has been one of the most difficult and stressful of my life, and the last month has been especially horrible. I am 15 lbs heavier than I would like, super out of shape, really exhausted, and I just generally feel like I have neglected myself since there has been so much external craziness in my life. However, we are moving cross country next week. I will be working from home (no commute, more time!) and I have no friends there, so I'm really going to make an effort to focus on my health and wellness.

No; and I know it's much deeper than the # on the scale. I hit and surpassed my goal weight and weigh less than I did when I got pregnant and less than when I got married and I'm still terribly unhappy about my body. I thought there would be a magic number at which I'd be comfortable again in my forever-changed skin, but I now don't think there is

Yes, I'm happy with my weight. I'm very happy with my body from my hips up, but I wish my legs and butt could be more toned. I'm working on it!

Ok, but not happy. My belly is still not really where Id feel comfortable but my bottom half is actually smaller than before my second baby and a size I'm mostly happy or at least comfortable with. Mostly just the belly and it's not TERRIBLE but with tiny boobs it can look bigger easily.

@Mrs. Pickle: with DD1 I said she was drinking my lifeblood. I was so thin from BFing at 11-18 months PP. And then I gained it back after I weaned!

I started working out last summer (almost 4 years pp) after goiven myself an entire year off from even thinking about working out. I feel amazing and am also at a great weight because of it. But I also think allowing myself about 3 years was key.

@tofuwad: yes, that's so true for me as well. I am tracking what I am eating using weight watchers online and I am down 10 pounds since June. My issue is sugar and sweets, I have basically forbidden my husband to bring them in the house and now I am bringing all my food to the office most days.

No.
Having babies back to back to back has done a number and now I'm so busy taking care of them I get to busy to eat and then stuff garbage in my face when I can grab something.
My fitness is pretty good. I'm very strong and am probably pretty toned but you wouldn't know it underneath my jiggly belly.
I'd like to lose 30 lbs but it's so hard to find time to exercise that doesn't involve strapping my kids into a stroller for an hour and disrupting naps.
I'm trying to be easy with myself because I'm handling the mom and baby stuff really well but I don't like how my body looks and I'm so sick of stretchy pants.
I've put myself so far on the back burner I'm not on the stove anymore.

I am actually (2 months ago I would not have said that!) I recently lost 15lbs and am back to my wedding weight. Which isn't to say I'm a size 0 (more like a size 10) but I feel comfortable and have learned to be easier on myself and my body. I don't mind my jiggly belly or squishy bits. I've started "working out" (aka walking on the treadmill while watching The Good Wife when the kids are asleep) and it has done wonders for my mental health as well.

I'm fine with the weight on the scale, and generally okay that I fit into all of my clothes. I don't have the confidence to wear a bikini or anything like that. I'm going to try to work on adding exercise to my routine.

I'm loosing a lot of my muscle because of the first trimester struggle ...hoping to get back to it soon.
pomelo / 5220 posts
Generally yes. I ran a marathon a few months ago and I've lost a lot of fitness since then and now I am pregnant so I'm just trying to be kind and listen to my body. I'm sure the 1st trimester blahs are coming soon and I'll be living on peanut butter crackers/carbs/pizza/whatever doesn't make me puke.

@oliviaoblivia: I feel like i could have written that too (although only one baby so far, but a few losses that added to my weight). I just started with a naturopath to help with hormones and weight loss a bit. She's upped my protein and I have to cut all snacking. I'm hoping it helps cause my weight has plateaued since having my DD and just won't budge.

@looch: good for you! I don't have the willpower to just say no. I went on a strict diet while pregnant (basically I went off eating all refined sugar, flour, white rice, etc.) and it gave me a binging problem. So now I just incorporate moderate amounts into my daily life. I love the Weight Watchers brand ice cream bars (70-90 calories). Also Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are 150 calories.
One of my favorite food blogs is now Skinnytaste.com (she lists "smart points" in addition to calories in her recipes - is that the same as weight Watchers points?).

@oskarsmommy: It was definitely a journey, but I found that once I had my daughter, I started to focus more on being healthy and fit so I could model that behavior for her. instead of obsessing over a number. I don't not eat things because they are "bad," I just exercise "everything in moderation" and hope that she develops a healthy relationship toward food/her body.
I also have gestational diabetes and am on an 1800 calorie diet right now. I'm hungry lol. I do eat carbs and my glucose is well controlled, but I'm definitely healthier than I was in my last pregnancy.

Nope. I have 30 pounds to lose. I'm doing weight watchers again now 14-15 months postpartum. I've lost 10 pounds already, so I'm working on it. I can't wait to wear my clothes from 2 years ago.
