DD has this horrible post nasal drip at night and it is just like nails on a chalk board and I just want to scream....it wakes her up and that means DH or I sleep with her the rest of the night which that I am ok with but she just coughs all night and even will puke up the mucus its so sad!
Dr. gave her meds it helped but still lingers we started her on allergy pills and it's not helping!

I took out all stuffed animals on her bed she really only had a small few and don't know what else to do for her....sorry for rant it just pisses me off...lol poor girl was sleeping so well

Right not DD is struggling with hitting. It's not done in a mean or angry way, it's actually usually done when we are playing or when she is in my arms and close to my face. She just smacks me in the face. It's really strange. Unsure of how to discipline for it. Saying no hasn't seemed to work and I think she may be a little young for time outs (18 months).

A little bit of behavior stuff at school. We have a social butterfly who needs to get himself in check more often.

My 2 year old has started crying at daycare drop off, breaks my heart as he hasn't done this ever at his current daycare. He's getting a baby sister in 6 weeks and the mommy preference right now is severe.
Doesn't help that he's had a bad cold for the past week and his night-sleep has been awful. Poor guy.

Eating. It's getting to the point where we aren't making any progress and are instead backsliding, so I made some phone calls today.

Sleep. DD used to go down for naps by herself (awake but sleepy) and now refuses to sleep unless she's being held. She'll go down at bed time in her crib when I nurse her to sleep but she's up a few times a night.

@2PeasinaPod: we did try that. She will do it once but then be right back to hitting again.

Mostly being pregnant with a 17 month old. I've also been trying to night wean for a month or two and it's been very difficult. She's finally not throwing a fit when I tell her no milk. Now if I could just get her to STTN (and then STTN in her own space), it would be amazing.

On the non-parenting front I've mostly been stressing because we need to find a new place to live. And I'm 19 weeks and still vomiting. It's not fun!

@Mama Bird: same here, I've been losing my cool way too much and I need to reign it in. My son is almost 5 and some days he has a great day and is totally reasonable, other days it's hitting and tantrums. Having a newborn in the house is also not helping.

@schubr03: we did the same as @2peasinapod with the "No we are GENTLE" and guiding DS1's hand to stroke our face nicely. Then we cheered "yay!!!" with clapping and ended with a high five. The high fives became a positive thing he could do that still had the same satisfying feeling as hitting. We incorporated clapping for things (yayyyy you woke up from nap, yayyyy you ate yogurt!) and high fives anytime he did something positive. My son is also somewhat guarded around strangers and we could get him to give high fives when he didn't want to say hi or get hugged. It was invaluable because we had our second baby a few months later and we could yell "Gentle!" and he knew what that meant. Around 2 we were able to start using timeouts and "sorry" but 16-18 months this is what we did.

@Mrs. Pickle: yes, this is my biggest struggle too. I swear, it's not even my kid who is the problem. It's definitely me. This is harder than I expected.

@Ajsmommy: bedtime stalling is crazy here too. I am usually strict about bedtime but he's been asking me to lie with him longer and longer each night and well, I'm tired and my back hurts and I might as well. I'm sure I'm creating my own issue.

@Mrs. Pickle: yessss it is so hard. I've definitely struggled with patience and I feel like it's just going to get worse when I'm even more sleep deprived with a newborn.

Also I'm 36 weeks and mommy preference is getting more and more intense, and I'm just not going to be able to manage the clinginess and tantrums when I physically can't respond to her every whim

@AprilFool: hello! We are the same. LO is nearly 3 and suddenly refuses to go down at night & fights daytime nap but still needs it...then wakes up really late in the mornings making working days (all five) super hard! It's so tough! The days he doesn't nap he's ready for bed at like 7.30, but we aren't ready (dinner, bath etc) so he wins out!

Was not expecting this! Fun age otherwise though right?

Potty training. He will be 4 this spring and will not poop on the potty. Nothing has worked, he doesn't care and I've pretty much given up for now.

The other struggle is I've been more tired than normal which equals less patience. I need to sleep more and take some time for myself.

@Mrs. Pickle: It really is so hard, I complained a lot also!

Poop embarrasses my 22 month potty trainer. She doesn't want to do it on the potty and definitely not her pullup or diaper. so she whips off her pants and pullup and poops on the floor...In like 3 seconds flat.

@Bao: Not a struggle per se, but DS is getting tubes in his ears tomorrow. He is almost 14 months. Everyone says it's super quick but of course I'm nervous!!! I swear though, if it clears up the CONSTANT ear infections he's been having, let's get it done!

@SweetiePie: We had a few tantrums the past few weeks and not listening AT ALL! I have really tried to focus on the positive behavior and that seems to be helping!

@FaithFertility: ugh we are the opposite! She is always like no daddy no! Hurts his feelings but I kiddo saying its not him. She is just fighting the changes!

Sleep ... still majorly struggling with our 3 year old. It's so hard.

Also, I'm in my 1st trimester and soooo ready for the lovely 2nd trimester to start.

@Portboston: I am SO SICK of germs too. And of winter, in general.
