I used to have a theory that people want to recreate their own family size, but my own experience doesn't really support that.
My parents had 4 kids, and Bee and I are having 2 kids. So I'm having less than my parents. Bee's parents had 2 kids though, so she's having the same number of kids as her parents.
Are you having less kids than your parents did?

Yes. I'm one of 4 biological children (and I grew up with 3 step-siblings). DH is one of 3. We're planning on either 1 or 2.

my mom had 3, my dad had 4 and DH's family has 2. i would like 3, DH is adament only 2. whenever we have #2, if it's a girl(we already have a boy) we'll stop...if it's another boy....i'll push for a third :o)

Probably less for me and more for DH. I'm one of 5, he's one of 2...we've talked about having 3 or 4. Happy medium.

My parents had 5 and my in-laws had 3. We currently have two and are still debating #3, so we don't quite match up.

Probably! I'm one of six children, and I do not plan to have that many, although things could change... hahaha.
I want 2, 3... MAYBE 4 but not likely.

Not totally sure. Both DH and I have one brother and one sister, so are from families with three kids. We don't know how many we will have though! Maybe just 2.

Yes and no. My dad only had me but my mom had my brother as well. We want two max but may stick with one. So I'll possibly have less than my mom but the same as my dad.

I'm one of 5 and I think that would be our absolute max IF, and that's a big IF, we even make it to that! I'm currently pregnant with my first. My husband is one of 13 and we will in no way, shape or form get close to that number. Though I would bet at least one of the kids follows in their footsteps.

Yes. There were three of us. My brother did not have any kids (he passed away), my sister will not be having any (not planning to anyhow), and FI and I may have one. As long as we can pay off some of our stuff in the next two years LOL

I'm an only child and I hated it growing up (and still do) so we are planning on having at least 2, maybe 3. The in-laws had 3 so we might have the same.

I want more kids than my parents! Both of them have 3 siblings each, but I just have my sister and it makes me sad that my kids won't have tons of cousins around like I did! So I figure if we have 3-4 kids there will be lots of grandchildren that can have fun together! Admittedly, LO #1 is still marinating so this plan could change based on a lot of factors.

I hope so! My parents wanted two, but my little brother was a surprise. We only want two. DH is already saying he is getting snipped after 2 to make sure no surprises come along.

Yes! My mom has 4. My dad has 6. DH's mom has 1 and his dad has 2. We may or may not give LO a sibling--2 at the maximum!

We are both from 2. #2 is on the way for us, but we're undecided if that's all. My mom is 1 of 8 and my MIL is 1 of 5 (i think). We will not make it that far, though we both love that we have lots of cousins, so maybe our grandkids will get to have that!

My hubs is an only child, but I'm one of 3. We are planning only 1 or 2 kids. No more than 2 for sure, and maybe only 1 (although it depends on how the first one goes and IF we can even have kids at all...)

Both my parents and my husband's parents had four kids and we want three. It's kind of hilarious how outraged we are about the idea of four. That is just TOOO many. (As if it's so many more than three!)
