We just moved I t our house and I live it, but I don't see the point in living in the same house, same place forever. No plans for moving anytime in even the distant future, but I don't understand the "forever home" idea.

Maaaybe! We were very careful, even with our first home, to buy something we *could* stay in forever if we needed to. Our current home has the potential to extend into the attic when we need the space but we might choose to move instead, when the time comes. At this point, I hope we stay here because I have already invested so much emotionally in doing it up.

Quite possibly. But we need to do some extensive renovations if so (3rd car garage and moving one 30' long exterior wall out about 15'...
With those improvements we could be happy here into retirement!
However if DHs parents ever wanted to talk seriously about 'gifting' us their house to completely gut renovated I think we would strongly consider!

Yes! It's also our first home. We bought in the neighborhood we wanted, and this is where I want to raise our family. It needs a lot of work, and I get easily frustrated by the time and money it takes to get it back in shape. I still love it though and can't imagine a different house for us.

I'm not sure that we are even in our forever city. DH and I met here 8 years ago and bought a house 7 years ago and every couple months, we talk about moving elsewhere! We've considered moving closer to family, moving to one of our dream cities, etc. and he's had several opportunities arise. If we were to stay in this city, I don't think we would move. There's a great Catholic school close by and our house is large enough to accommodate our family of 3, plus one more.

Nope. Can't imagine staying in one home forever! We moved about every 7 years when I was a kid. If we stay here for 10, that would be a long time!

Probably. It we move, it will most likely be to a better high school zone, so we have plenty of time. I do lament the lack of storage in this house though! We are planning to finish the basement and I'm slowly adding some storage pieces, so hoping that will help in the long-term.
