No! We had a random one several months ago and my phone battery died. It was also nap time so I spent most of it worrying about him noticing the lack of white noise. And I had to figure out how to manually open our horribly heavy garage door and let our nanny get her car out. I think my prep needs to be extra phone battery, figure out how that door really works, and keep the iPad charged with daniel tiger downloaded.

We had a power outage when DH was out of town and I was alone with sleeping LO. It was shortly after we moved and I couldn't find any flashlights or candles. DH's computer backup power supply was stuck on alarm so it increased the stress level tremendously (plus I thought it would wake LO without her white noise).

Needless to say we are better prepared now. If the power supply alarm gets stuck again I will put it in the car outside.

We could be better, but, not too bad. We've got a couple of flashlights that stay plugged in to the wall and automatically come on in the event of a power outage. Our fireplace always has wood. We have a gas stove/oven (though it has electric ignition, not a pilot, so we'd need a lighter or matches).

However, lighters and matches never seem to stay where they should be. We might have a frustrating time searching about with flashlights figuring out what drawer we'd stuffed them in to the last time we tidied up.

I'm also terrible about keeping electronics charged. My phone, my laptop, and my tablet are often completely exhausted before they get charged.

Yes we are very prepared. We have a whole house generator and are fully stocked on food. We could last a good long while. However our phones would likely not work because when we lose power we lose our internet which makes our cell phone repeater work.

Yep, after we recently lost power and I was home alone.

We have a hard wired generator, LED lanterns and special lights that alert us that we've lost power by illuminating.

No. Keep forgetting to bring the generator home from my parents house! We have flashlights and batteries but we would have to gather our things and immediately drive to their house.

We would be OK but not great, the flashlights and a battery powered radio are in a bag all together but the batteries are elsewhere because they are rechargeables. We do always have wood and lighters handy for the fireplace and our stove is gas and could be lit by a lighter. It would be really cold though and we never figured out how to get into our garage in an emergency short of breaking the window to the side door... (It's detached and the previous owners lost the keys.)

We have flashlights, candles, ect. that we keep on hand for tornado season, so technically we would be prepared. But it would get cold we don't have a generator or fireplace.

Not particularly. We do have a few flashlights (although it would take me a bit to find them... yay for flashlight on iPhone!). We have some candles and matches we could light. And luckily we are on city water here which is safe and works even in power outages (unlike where I grew up with well water... that sucked!) unless there is a boil alert. The big problem, which just now occurred to me, is that LO will only take a warmed bottle. And we would have no way to warm it without power after the first few hours when the water in the water heater cooled. But I guess luckily she only takes a bottle every 4 hours so we'd be okay for the first post-power outage bottle and if our power was out longer than that we'd just go somewhere else. We have a lot of friends here with guest rooms so we just wouldn't stay if our power was going to be out for a long time.

Also (knock on wood) our power has gone out a few times since we moved to our current house and it seems like the city always gets us up and running first (within a few hours max). We are right next to a hospital so I'm guessing that our power substation or whatever is high priority.
