My in-laws are still married, I think they're going on 32 years.

Yep! It was a messy divorce on MILs side (still makes things so uncomfortable for everyone). MIL has been married 3 times, FIL remarried and is still with SMIL.

Yep. I think he was 12 or so when they got divorced. He said that he was glad they did because he was sick of all the fighting. His Mom was engaged when she passed 6 years ago. FIL and Step-MIl have been married 16 years, or so.

Yes - they were married for 32 years and then she finally smartened up. He had put her into bankruptcy twice during their marriage, lied through all that time about money (how do you live as a couple and not have a conversation about money), split up happened 8 months before our wedding and BAM she moved in with us. They only just finalized the divorce and he doesn't help her at all. He's a pathological liar, he plays with peoples minds. He also makes no effort to contact his sons so we have nothing to do with him and I'm quite happy with it being that way.

Nope. They were married until FIL passed away 10 years ago. From what dh tells me they had a very happy marriage!

Yes, they separated when he was six, but didn't get divorced officially until he was 12.

They are still married and still very much in love, I think its really sweet.

Yep, DH's parents are divorced, too. They divorced when he was 6 due to infidelity (just like mine). I have to agree and say that coming from similar backgrounds has really made it easier to understand each other and what we specifically want from our marriage. Learning from other's mistakes, I guess.

Yep...they split when he was very young. His mom met his step dad when he was about 3. His dad passed away in 2011.

One reason I think he's great for ds is cause they have that similar thing...I met dh when ds was 3, and dh has been great with him. He understands how it is to go between 2 parents house better than I ever could. I think it's great.

Yes, both of our sets of parents are divorced. I feel like we both understand how hard marriage can be and are committed to making it work, while realizing it can be a lot worse for the children if parents aren't happy.
