W got invited to a party for one of her daycare friends, but we have two other parties to go to that day. Should we still get her a gift?

For birthday parties we don't. If it is a good friend I might have the kids draw a card and put in some fun stickers or something but otherwise we just skip it.

My love language is gifts - so I give gifts to parties I can't attend... to show my love and that I care about the people that invited us... but I think everyone is different.
