Bee's parents are first-time grandparents, and her mom is super-excited! Although she just loves babies... I think we could make 10 babies and she'd be just as excited for baby #10!
Are you the first to make grandkids for any of your parents/step-parents, and are they super excited? And if you're not the first grandkid-maker, do you secretly suspect that your parents/step-parents are less excited because you weren't first?

Linus is the first grandchild and the first great-grandchild. My parents are super duper excited, and my grandparents are thrilled (though they'll be more excited when they finally get to meet him).

My LO is the first grandchild for both sides and my parents and in-laws are over the moon. They are so proud to be grandparents. And since they are fairly young (late 50s-mid 60s), they're glad to be actively enjoying LO.

Lo is the first on my side, which is pretty weird for me because I'm the youngest. I think my parents will be equally excited for their next grandchildren. But my mom told me the first is always the most special. Hope my grandparents didn't think that way, I'm their 3rd!
Lo is the 2nd on dhs side. I wasn't around for their first so I don't know how they were with her, but I do know they were crazy excited about our lo. My mil has trouble balancing them when they're together though. Lo's cousin gets jealous if she's holding my lo, she's used to having her nanny all to herself!

Prettybaby is #3 on DH's side and #1 on my side. It's great because SIL broke in her parents to having babies, and I get the excitement of being first on my side. All of the grandparents are just so excited about this baby, the order doesn't really matter

We do have the first grand child (ren) for all of our parents. My mom is super excited and my dad just loves lo but he was less than excited about me having kids lol.

Our LO will be grandchild #1 for my parents, great grandchild #1 for my Maternal grandparents, but #5 for DH's family. My parents are definitely super excited, especially since neither of my siblings are anywhere close to being ready for making babies!

We will have the first for both sides - we're close to TTC and all of our siblings aren't even close - most of them aren't out of high school yet, and none of them are in committed relationships.

My mom and step-dad already have 7 grandkids from 2 of my step-siblings, but we'll be the first of my mom's kids. We'll be the first for my dad, too. Husband's parents have 2 grandkids from his older brother.

First for my inlaws and they saw them yesterday and definitely could tell it was their first...
Not first for my parents, but I think they're enjoying my kids more because I'm staying with them for now and they get to see them every day. And they were waiting a long time for my kids so... Plus I'm the daughter so they get to be more involved, while, they weren't as involved with my bro because sil's mom was there to take are of her...

My siblings are teenagers so I would be surprised if one of them has a LO before me. So I will probably have the first grandchild. My husband's siblings are older but he is the only one married. I wouldn't be as surprised if we aren't the first to have a LO, but it will probably work out that way.

Nope because we're the youngest on both sides so never expected to have the first grandchild. I definitely notice a difference in anticipation from my MIL in comparison to hwen she got her first grandchild. I've posted about it before, but oh wells. What are you going to do.
I think my FIL and my mom are SUPER excited. My FIL because him and I have a very special relationship and bond so I think any child of ours will be extra special to him. And my mom because I"m her only daughter! So first grandchild from a daughter! 
I've found the best way to deal with all of this -first grandchild or not- is to have no expectations. That way you're not disappointed! Sometimes you think your parents will act or do certain things because it's their first/grandchild. But they don't and you get disappointed. Or they DO but not as much as you think they should and you still get disappointed! They have no obligations to do anything! haha just speaking from what I've seen from my BIL.
My mom on the other hand is super grandma. She does everything hahaha.

My sister has two little girls (3.5 and 1.5) and a boy due a month after me. My parents loooove being grandparents! My mom has told me that she couldn't be more excited about my LO if he were the first and only : )

Little miss will be the first grandchild for both sides. Grandchild #2 will be following close behind on my side though so I think the spoiling will be kept in check!

i know my parents are excited, but they aren't very emotional people, so i can tell--but most people can't
his mom is THRILLED (but possibly more excited about the first one--she definitely did a lot of things for the first one and hasn't done any for this one yet. he also isn't born yet, so that's probably part of it.)
his dad is excited, but i think he was more excited about the first one

Technically, LO is my mom's 2nd grandbaby but since she's the first to be able to leave the hospital and come home healthy, she's been super excited and happy. Our first baby, my mom's first grandbaby, is now an angel baby but my mom was able to visit him a few times in NICU, so she was very happy. Because of our previous experience, all the grandparents are super excited about LO.

Libby-Jane is the only grandchild on my side. She definitely gets spoiled because of it. She is the first (by 3.5 months) on hubby's side and I think she's spoiled because we live close to my in-laws, not because she's older...

We'll have the first grandchild on my side, and the first great-grandchild on my maternal side.
It's the 5th great-grandchild on my paternal side, and for DH LO will be the 7th grandchild, 11th paternal great-grandchild and something like the 13th or 14th maternal great-grandchild.
You can definitely see the difference between the excitement levels where LO will be first vs 13th. Everyone is happy/excited, but my side is bouncing off the walls.

Ours will be the first on both sides. I'm actually kind of nervous about how crazy it is going to be. We are going to have to set up boundaries really quickly, or it could quickly get out of hand. Our parents are seriously going insane with excitement.

LO is the first grandchild for my parents and first great-grandchild for my grandmother (only living grandparent). My in-laws are divorced and each remarried. My MIL remarried someone 20+ years older than she is, so she has step-grandkids but they are all college age or older now - she considers LO to be her first grandchild. My FIL inherited 2 young step-grandkids when he remarried, and although he loves the step-grands to death, he still considers LO as his first grandchild. All the parents are super, super excited and spoiling LO already!

LO will be the first on my side and my parents are SO SO excited! She won't be the first on DH's side. His parents are excited, but they live in the same city as their other grandchildren whereas we're 12 hours away... I think they'll always have a bit of a preference for our nieces.

Ours will be first on my side, but second on the hubby's side. My mom has already talked about spoiling her first grand baby to bits!
My MIL lives with my BIL (her first grand baby), and since she's the primary caretaker for them and the baby, she's burnt out already. I know she would still spoil our LO though.

We'll have the first grandchild for both sides (easy for me, I'm an only child). Hubs' parents are THRILLED and my mom is over the moon excited-- my dad's stoked too, but he lives across the country, so he's not here to experience it all.

We'll have the first grandchild and my parents were SO excited when we told them. This would be the seventh for my in-laws. They're excited too, of course, but I think my parents are going through the same thing as me - shock, anticipation, and a change to their identity.

Nope I have 3 nieces and my DH has 1 niece, if we have a boy it will be the first grandson on both sides. My dad bought the baby a camo coat for Easter, he's secretly hoping for a boy I think! But he said "boys or girls can wear camo!"

We're not even TTC yet, but it's a sure thing that we'll be the first to procreate on BOTH sides. We'll have some extremely excited grandparents.
Plus we'll be creating the first great-grandchild on my mom's side, so add to that mix one extremely excited great-grandmother.
