Yep. I let DD out my keys in her mouth and chew on toys that have fallen on the floor.

Not yet because DD hasn't thrown a tantrum in public. But she's only 16 months, so I'm sure I'll get there!
Fwiw, I don't look twice at kids wearing or not wearing shoes.

I used to judge parents who were out with young kids late... Dd is only 7 weeks old and the other night we got back from eating dinner out at a restaurant at 9:30pm. Ooops! She was totally asleep in her moby the whole time, but I felt like a hypocrite anyway

Sometimes we'll give her a non-toy; phone, keys etc. to keep her quiet when it's not the best time/location for a meltdown!

@autumnlove: mine does that too with the shoes!! Wth?
I am that parent when I let LO play on my phone when she needs to sit in her stroller. She gets bored SO fast in there and sometimes I haven't completed what we went out to get done! And I admit it- there are times I want to shop or whatever and she just whines even if Im paying attention to her. It's not all the time, but I didn't want to be that parent. But then I had a kid and the reality of needing to bring that kid on all my errands and pretty much everywhere I go set in...

I'm the mother who holds her child all the time, never let's him cry, and sometimes co-sleeps. I always thought id let him learn to be more independent and not so attached to me. Now I want him attached to me. Lol
And I'm the parent who sometimes uses the TV as a babysitter. I am proud to say that it isn't often though!

Yes. Like when my child is screaming and/or singing at the top of her lungs in a very public place (like Target) and I just ignore it.

Yes! I remember all the Katie Holmes drama about her not making sure Suri was wearing a coat when it was 30 degrees outside - I even thought "What mother lets her kid outside w/o a coat on????"
Then my DS decided he doesn't get cold and doesn't want to wear a coat when its 30 degrees out - fine, don't wear a coat!
oops..... sorry Katie Holmes!

hmm...maybe the baby in bars thing. When I lived in Dallas, I was all "OMG, who would ever bring their baby to a bar (but I think I was actually thinking--who would bring their baby to a restaurant, or mall, or anywhere public).
And then I moved to an area where babies in (certain) bars through the dinner hour is totally normal, and I immediately started doing that. Haha. When in Rome...

Yup! I said I wouldn't co-sleep, and here we are... Totally eating my words.

@birdofafeather: Ha, thanks....I felt bad for judging Britney and her kids without shoes!

"I'll never bring my toddler into bed with us..." says the mom who's child slept with her last night after she woke up crying from a "scary" dream.
I also though I would have a well behaved kid because "I knew how to discipline and I won't let her rule the coop" yet, she throws tantrums daily when she doesn't get her way. I used to think tantrums were due to parenting, ha oh naïve pre-baby me.

I am the parent with the son with the absolute messiest bed head hair.

@birdofafeather: Yes and @looch: yes!
My only two big 'judgies' were obnoxious kids in public and messy hair. No big fit from L in public yet, but I know my subconscious will be rolling its eyes at myself. AND, I don't have time, energy or patience to do her hair. Not only would she not let me, it would just get messed up again in half a second!

@swurlygurl: my son won't sit still for a haircut, so they are very few and far between!!!!

Oh yeah. I used to think it was ridiculous when parents had toddlers out and about with messy faces - just wipe them off! Well, DS screamed and thrashed around when I would wipe his face (wth, its just a little water!!) so I was that mom. Luckily he has gotten over that for the most part - but I have to admit I don't always wash his face when I should

@nana87: This exactly. I didn't realize that itty bitty babies don't get the concept of bedtime anyway. And sometimes you have to do it. I ate an entire dinner, probably at 8 pm, with her nursing under a nursing cover, when she was 3 weeks old. And I had a glass of wine while I did it!
I also totally opened a package of mum mums that I was buying in Target and fed them to her so I could finish my shopping. Showed up to the register with food all over her face and handed the open package to the check out lady. She totally dropped some on the cart seat and picked it back up and ate them too. Gross.

@shellio: Oh yes! I wondered why parents would let their kids have a snotty runny nose... Oh... because they act like you are rubbing them with poisonous sand paper when you wipe it.

@Foodnerd81: shocking
Oh and we sometimes took LO out to eat at night the first few months. She slept in the Ergo and we ate around her or over her head!
