I usually wait and read the transcript the next day. I can't stand all the pomp and circumstance, the bazillion applause interruptions, etc....

I will. I hope to watch on a station that shows the little graph of which lines Dems and Reps like... that makes it fun. But DH likes to watch on PBS, which has no fun gimmicks.
I have to watch for work, but I also love politics, so I'd watch it anyway. I am looking forward to hearing what the President says about women, especially working women and working families, and the minimum wage.

@littlebug: I'm with you! I usually wait to read recaps. I used to watch them, but I really can't get down with whole stand up, sit down, clap, who's clapping, etc.

@septca: I'm hoping for more emphasis on early childhood education, especially since that is so closely tied to working women and families!

Yep- we always watch...it'll end up being a wine drinking game for DH and I... all the times they stand and clap. all the repubs that dont. etc.
As far as content? Not sure. There's a myriad of things that I'd like to hear about... not sure that there's enough time!

I'll just read about it tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to the parade of facebook jokes/comments that will come up because of this. Gonna stay off media tonight.

We do. We have it on in the background, something will catch our focus so we will rewind, listen to it again. Then we pause and discuss. By that point, we can fast forward through the applause.
Then we get tired of it and move on to what we were doing before. Then the cycle continues.

We will; we always watch the SOTU. It's likely my husband will get interviewed about it tomorrow (or late tonight, before the 11pm news) so we definitely watch in real-time.
I'll be looking for real talk/plans on raising the minimum wage, addressing some of the ACA myths, etc.

I'm sure my husband will brief me in what is said. I won't be paying attention otherwise though.

Doh. I'm sitting here wondering where in the world DH is. I bet he's in the driveway listening to it in the car! I got distracted after day care pick up.

Watching for work.. But I'd rather curl up with a blanket and go to sleep!
