Our daycare payment (2 LOs) is a little lower than our mortgage.

My one child's day care is significantly (40%) more expensive than my mortgage! But that's because we bought a house well below what we could afford and put down a big downpayment.

Well, currently daycare is less than our mortgage. When she moves to a new center at 2, daycare will be more expensive than our mortgage.

If we were doing daycare, the quote I got was for more than our mortgage (not by much, but still...). That's for one child.
That's why DH is becoming a SAHD.

Our daycare costs will be about 50% of our monthly mortgage payments. But we pay an extra mortgage payment each month to pay it down faster, hence the larger differential between daycare and mortgage costs.

Our rent is considerably more than daycare, but daycare is very cheap around here.
