We had her ears pierced when she was 4 months old? We took her to a place that specializes in ear piercings, especially infant ears. It's done via needle.

@chopsuey: nope. and I wont be piercing them. Mine arent pierced and I'm not into piercing or jewelry so she will have to wait til she is maybe 18 if she wants them. she will have to do them herself.

I really wanted to do it when LO was an infant, but DH was VERY against it - his sisters had to wait until they were teenagers to get it done so he thought that was normal. My best friend's daughter is just a few days younger then LO and I was so mad at him when they were about a year old and he kept talking about how cute friend's LO is with earrings and why didn't we get them for LO?!? He had totally forgotten how much he didn't want it done at first!!
So LO is 2.5 now and constantly asks to wear earrings and is obsessed with mine (I have multiple piercings and wear fairly large earrings most days). We'll probably take her to get it done around age four if she keeps asking. I currently have no confidence in her ability to keep them clean and not play with them.

No. She can have them pierced whenever she can ask for them and demonstrate to me she can care for them
I didn't get mine pierced until I was 19. I had my cartilage pierced at 18. Teenagers...weird creatures.

I'm not sure when we will allow earrings, but I've already decided we won't allow it to happen at the mall. It needs to be professionally done. Mine were pierced around age 8, at the mall, and they were not done evenly. One is nicely centered while the other is close to the outside of the lobe. I don't know why my parents allowed me to keep them like that.
